3/09/37 Mrs. [

Mr. Edgar Cayce:-
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Friends:-
The reading was a little bit disappointing to Mrs. [
1342],
for she had come to the conclusion that there was something
radically wrong with her. She has started the treatments
with a great deal of faith and interest. I said she was
disappointed, really it was a surprise. I see a difference
in her it seems, for she seemed so much in the dark, Drs.
had said she had serious glandular trouble and anemia and
most every other guess. So from her changed attitude, I am
hopeful and feel sure she has more faith than she has
expressed to me. The prescription was filled yesterday,
some had to be ordered. We were to go to Beckley for another
osteopathic treatment today but it's snowing and the change
in altitude from here may mean more snow than I feel like
driving in, we have to drive over a good sized mountain in
the 25 miles. There is an osteopath here but he thinks his
way and his ideas are the best [A. P. Meador, D.O.], the one
at Beckley [Harwood James, D.O.? or James M. Laing, D.O.?]
is willing to take the directions, or at least he acts that
way. I am keeping close tab on her and will give the violet
ray treatment when the outfit comes.

6/24/37 Mrs. [
959]'s letter: "Mrs. [
1342] has not made the
progress that we had hoped but she and I feel we know why.
It's impossible to get any cooperation with the osteopath
here and it's impossible to make the trip to Beckley, 25
miles away, often enough to do the good - then, too, the
reading says to relax after treatments, but that is
impossible as the drive is over two mountains, and while
returning this week they narrowly escaped a wreck which
made her very nervous and feel worse than before taking
treatment.
"She is taking medicine and attending to diet. She is much
stronger and feels better than a year ago. Seems she always
feels better in summer."
