TEXT

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1377] - this we have had before. In many respects the body shows some improvements. In others there are disorders and distresses as are produced in the system. Especially do the tendencies along the extremities seem to have those reactions from those forces as produced the accentuation, or the tendency of globular formations in the system. These are ACUTE conditions arising from nerve reaction, as well as an improper coordination of ELIMINATIONS in system. The indications are also seen in the acute or sharp pains as occur in the spinal column itself, centering at times in the dull, mean headaches as come from the disorders from toxic poisons resultant from the poor elimination, and naturally - picked up in the circulation - leaves pressures in any of the axis, or producing stiffness in joint, muscle, and portions of the body.
  2. There should be given a GENERAL MASSAGE, osteopathically given, once each week. If this is given on, say Tuesdays - then on Thursdays have a massage along the spine with this:
  3. Take 1 quart of Russian White Oil. To this add 1/2 ounce Oil of Cedar, 1/2 ounce Oil of Mustard, 1 ounce Spirits of Camphor - or, better still, 1 DRAM of Camphor Gum dissolved in as small quantity of alcohol as will suspend same. Mix these together and use about 2 tablespoonsful to massage the limbs and the spine. This will aid the manipulations to be more easily given in the following treatment, make for suppleness of body - but keep the eliminations through alimentary canal. Use the irrigations to assist in same, to remove toxins.
  4. Be mindful that the diet is in keeping with those things which have been outlined, bewaring of those things that make for too much sediment or that are just WEIGHT in the body. This would be, as we find in the present, a sample - though this may be altered or changed to suit, or to assist the appetite for the body:
  5. Mornings - Ovaltine or a cereal drink, with only citrous fruits. Occasionally rolled oats or whole wheat, but not often.
  6. Noon - Salad, consisting principally of green vegetables with some nuts. The dressings over same should be of oils, or those that are made of paprika and oils.
  7. Evenings - Bread made from whole wheat flour. Potato jacket and that portion close to the jacket may be taken, but not so much of the pulp. Salsify, lettuce, parsnips, turnips - these may be taken, provided not too much grease is cooked in same. Lentils, beans, cabbage, and such - and if meat at ALL, either wild game or mutton, lamb, chicken, or such. Ready for questions.
  8. (Q) Can anything be done for my throat?
    (A) Do what we have given, and we will do something for the throat!
  9. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

  1. See 1377-5 on 4/01/30.
  2. 12/06/30 "What is the matter with my limbs? I have always been strong in my limbs and now they ache severely if I walk 2 blocks. Will they be right again? What makes the terrible headaches at base of brain which usually begin towards morning? What causes a pain which goes like lightning from the bottom of my spine to base of brain? Can anything be done for my throat? I strangle without the least provocation, and there is an uncomfortable feeling there most of the time - but no mucous. Do you find anything wrong with my diet? My heart disturbs me by very heavy palpitation, and then very light."

REPORTS

  1. 3/21/31 "Mr. Cayce's prescription for my limbs was MOST SATISFACTORY, but recently my blood dropped again as it did last year and I am using the same prescription which he gave me last year with good effects.
"I was so sorry to hear the fate of the Cayce Hospital for I looked upon it as a factor for good."
  2. 1/08/32 "I am peculiarly ill, in pain. Please give reading as soon as possible... Is there anything the matter with my shoes? Are there any adhesions? Any necessity for another operation? Will my legs ever be normal? Shall I keep off my feet?
  3. 1/11/32 See 1377-7.
