(Q) Can this place and field be developed to make a worth
while future for me in this bank? If so, how should I
proceed?
(A) This character of position or place can be made most
worth while, if there is the activity of such an one that
makes for the handling of such situations being carried on
in the way and manner as to be safe, sane, and in keeping
with good judgements and good understandings.
For, naturally, many activities arise in which judgements
of human nature are required, as well as judgements as to
individuals' abilities to carry on the financial rate or
terms.
Also such activities oft require the acting when there are
unpleasant duties connected with same.
Hence one that would handle such, or make such worth while,
must use diplomacy of a nature that is founded on the
psychology of the human individual and human relations.
If such a place is handled in such a manner, it becomes
not only - the work of the entity - the filling of a place
in an institution, such as a bank, but gives the individual
so handling same the opportunity to be not only valuable to
the bank or the financial institution for help, an aid to
those who are in the positions of the nature as such a
condition presents, in the experience of many individuals.
Hence the matter of judgement becomes the most of the
activity; and so oft the source of the judgement is not
as to how an individual lives, or the amounts of money
taken in, but the manner of life the individual leads -
and this is necessarily bound in the individual's spiritual
life.
For if such individuals are worldly-minded, these activities
must come to naught.
If the home, the home life, the activities to the family are
in keeping with that which is toward a constructive forces
in the lives of the individuals, then those who are in any
manner in position - without speculative interests - to be
able to care for or to meet any sort of terms are to be
considered well.
And it is on such a policy, such an activity, such a
judgement that the body, the entity, [
1388], may not only
make the place a worthy part of the activity of the
institution but himself be an honor to the institution and
to the place that such should occupy in the experience of
any institution that serves the public and is served by the
public - as such a place as this is.
(Q) What would be the best way to handle the special work
which has been assigned to me pertaining to mortgages?
(A) As has been indicated. These are to be studied in the
light of the situations that are in the hands of each
individual. If these are judged from rather their social
climbing, their material welfare, be wary of same. If they
are impelled by duty, home and the spiritual inclinations,
think on them twice.
(Q) What aid can I expect from [...] who is advisory aid
and associate bank and to [
1388]?
(A) May I? It's [
1388] with those associations as we find
that we are following!
What is given by [
1388] to the activities may be expected
to be the returns. There is no return without the giving
of self in an activity of worth whileness in any experience.
(Q) What steps will I have to take to get proper recognition
from the officials of the Bank of ...?
(A) These questions apparently are confusing as to the
individual for whom we are seeking information.
There IS the recognition, there IS the position - only to
be carried on.
(Q) Can my present work continue and develop the new
department at the same time or what plan should I adopt
and what should my attitude be?
(A) This is still confusing, as to that presented. It's
only to be carried on in the way and manner that has been
indicated.
(Q) Will I be able to promote myself into a better executive
position in this institution or will I be compelled to make
a new association elsewhere for advancement?
(A) If the policies, if the activities in this institution
are held to in the way and manner as has been indicated,
and worked at, no need to look elsewhere for recognition
or for advancement.
(Q) What field am I best suited for to the best interests
of all concerned?
(A) If there had not been the recognition of the abilities
of the entity in this field, it would not have been placed
in charge of same. Hence it must be carried on in the way
and manner that fits self for same. But if it is felt by
self that other phases of the activity are more desirable
- and because of the conditions that are oft hard to be
dealt with, that require tact and activities that become
a hardship - then we would change without a thought. But
when the abilities of the entity are considered, and the
service that may be rendered - not only to the institution
but to individuals, because of the manner of judgement and
of activity - it is well to hold to that you have.
(Q) What aid will I receive for my future from
Vice-President, [...]?
(A) Whatever is given, that you will receive in return.
It depends upon how much confidence you build so that it
may be had by the Vice-President - because he will be
advanced! That's how much you may get back!
(Q) [...], my immediate superior?
(A) There are some questions here with [...] - he is a
little overbearing; but it's good training for the body
and for the entity, if it will be taken in the right way
and manner.
(Q) How best can I build myself through these two men?
(A) In following, as indicated, the manner and the form
and the way of carrying on such an activity.
(Q) What can I do with the bank mortgages to bring myself
to the attention of the top officer such as the President
or Chairman of the Board?
(A) In the way and manner as indicated as to how it may
be handled. Consider the individual and each individual
case in the ways and manners that have been indicated. For
these are policies that - while a little out of the ordinary,
to be sure - are sound, safe, and build in the hearts and
the minds and the affairs of ALL who will apply them in
their daily life.
RIGHT is the way and manner. Might and main do not succeed.
Neither does oil mix much with water. Neither do those
things pertaining to the flesh only build homes nor
businesses. It's only when all phases and all portions
are builded on the safe and sound basis, the sane basis,
that there is the proper building up; and this is applicable
in those conditions where it becomes necessary even to
change homes or businesses or to re-let same in other ways
and manners. Keep these in mind. Keep these as the
criterion: He that is founded in home, in not merely church
or religion but in spiritual things, in the spiritual life
and in the building of a constructive force, WILL succeed!
(Q) How long will it take me to get advanced in the bank?
(A) How long till tomorrow? This depends upon the
activities, the sincerity, the clarity of purpose, and the
way and manner it is carried on.
(Q) Who is the best person or what is the best channel for
me to work through for my development and promotion?
(A) SELF - and God; and taking Him into partnership with
you, in the directions with you - that's the only way for
advancement! For all power and all might, that may be in
the hands of man, is only lent for a purpose; for it IS of
God.
Then when an individual in any institution, in any business,
in any relationship, in any walk of life, walks in the way
and manner in which his days and his needs may be in keeping
with that which is a proper consideration of the brother and
of the brother's relationships, then we may know God will
give the increase as the individual is able to bear it.
(Q) Is there any way for me to increase my earnings by
holding this position?
(A) Do not attempt to do so by any short cuts. Use that
you have in hand day by day in the way and in the spirit
of truth and right and justice and mercy and patience and
longsuffering and kindness; then what thou needest, it will
be thine!
(Q) In what way can [
257] and I make money together or aid
in my development at the present time?
(A) For that it is best to take into consideration what the
ideals and the purposes of each are, in their relationships
one to another, and as to how their purposes, aims and
desires may be made one in the light of constructive force
in the experiences of individuals who may need their
abilities, their thought and their activity in their own
development.
(Q) What new development or business can I work out in my
present situation that will aid me in building my future?
(A) Better work out what you have in hand first, before
you step out to far beyond. Get these in proper shape and
proper form, proper manner, and then there may be seen those
things, those ways and manners in which branching out may be
helpful.
(Q) What benefit will I get by continuing my present work
so that I may know what improvement the future holds for me?
(A) This must be answered from within. When you know that
the policies, the activities are in keeping with that which
is not only making the material returns to the institution
but building hope, understanding, the proper relationships
with those with whom the entity is dealing, in the activities
of the undertaking of the office that is held, then the
answer is known from within.
(Q) Is there any other bank in New York who would consider
my experience more valuable or more worth while?
(A) If there are other institutions considered more
valuable than the one with which self is associated, then
associate self with another! If you aren't with the best
institution and the one in which you may best serve, then
get out of it! If you cannot best serve in such an
institution, then get out of all of it!
(Q) When may I expect my most important opportunity to come?
(A) When you give forth the best that's in you for the
service and the activities of the fellow man, in relationship
to the whole of the institutions's work. As you give you
receive.
(Q) What is the future value or benefit of the mortgage
field in N.Y. or surroundings?
(A) As indicated, it is ever in those places where it
may be of a great service to the individual or groups or
associates honestly seeking to be of service in an equitable
way and manner, dealing fairly and squarely with all its
relationships.
Hence this fills a place where such institutions may be of
a help, may be of value to the community, to the individual,
to groups, and to those who are building constructively in
the affairs of the people of the community - or in whatever
community the chosen activities may be sought.
(Q) What kind of plan can I work out for [
257] on the ...
property that he can remain as a tenant and ultimately own
the property, should he desire it?
(A) Only make it in an equitable way and manner as for the
care that [
257] has put, may put, the manner in which it may
be put in form or shape so it is more valuable by [
257]'s
having been and being in same than by being leased or even
attempting to be sold under the existent circumstances. In
that way and manner it can be worked out to the most
satisfactory arrangements for all concerned.
Give a certain period or time - another year or another
eighteen months; and in that time certain changes must be
made that are improvements, that would be the same character
of improvements that would not only be for [
257]'s material
or immediate benefit but for the benefit of the resale or the
same, or for activities of others that might be in the market
for purchasing same.
(Q) What source will be the best market for the products I
have to offer?
(A) These as we find must be sought in channels in which
there are outlets for the products.
(Q) Is the time for me to attempt to build the department
for business reorganization or business liquidation in this
bank and get full credit for it?
(A) It is time.
(Q) Please give me advice as to how to conduct myself in
my daily life to further my best development both in the
eyes of God and man.
(A) This has been given. Study to show thyself approved
unto God, first; keeping self unspotted from the world.
Look upon thyself as a channel through which not only the
financial institution may be benefitted, with which you are
affiliated or associated, but a channel through which the
individuals you meet - in their lives, if their experiences
or their activities are in keeping with that which is
constructive - may be helped. If their lives are in those
channels in which they are self-indulgent, forget them -
make the more demands upon them, but let them know WHY!
We are through for the present.
