11/29/40 Letter [reporting on 1514-1]:
Perhaps you may recall Mr. Cayce, that I was attending a
study group here, for the study of the Bahai teachings, I
remember how you amazed me one nite at one of our meetings
in Virginia Beach, by telling me that I was thinking that
something we were discussing at the time was exactly in
keeping with what I had been studying here in Miami. It
still is that way, so much of the information which you get
is in accordance with our teachings, which were given us by
Baha-u-llah, the founder of the Bahai teachings. We believe
you know, that Baha-u-llah is the Manifestation for this age
and that like Jesus, his teachings are Divine in origin.
I've wondered so often if you had ever contacted Him for His
teachings in your psychic seekings.
There is one thing which has bothered me, in the Bahai
teachings, we are told that reincarnation is not a fact.
It took me some little time to accept that, due in part to
your life readings etc. and my faith and knowledge of your
sincerity in what you bring back from the Akashic records.
So in trying to reconcile the two, and believing the Bahai
teachings to be Divine in origin, I've come to the belief,
which may sound presumptuous to you, altho I hope not, Mr.
Cayce, that perhaps what you see in your life readings may be
the family history, rather than the individual history of a
person. That accounting, as I see it for the former lives,
and in no wise affecting the validity of the vocational
information given to the individual, which I know has put
so many people on the right tract, myself included.
A couple of months ago on the "Believe It or Not" program
there was an account of an interview with a medium who had
written a remarkable book, thru spirit guidance. I didn't
hear the whole program having just turned it on at the point
where a group of scientists were putting the "spirit" to some
tests, thru the medium, also asking various questions, one of
which had to do with reincarnation. The answer given was to
the effect, and I'm sorry I don't recall the exact words,
that reincarnation was a fallacy, and that there would be no
use in being born a babe again without memory. Perhaps you
heard or heard of, that particular broadcast.
As you can see, Mr. Cayce this has been a little difficult to
write, talking to you would have been simpler, but as I don't
know when I'll be in Virginia Beach again, it just had to be
written.
Do you plan to come down to Miami this winter, if you do and
I can be of any assistance to you in getting located, etc.
please let me know, Mr. Cayce, I'd be delighted to be of
service.
Do give my very best wishes to Gladys and Mae and Mrs. Cayce.
I hope you and they are all well and happy.
Very sincerely yours, Mara [

12/04/40 EC's letter:
Dear Mrs. [
1444]
Was indeed an agreeable surprise to have yours of the 29th -
we have just returned from a three weeks stay in N.Y. which
is always interesting - meeting old friends and making a few
new ones here and there. Mrs. Cayce spent 10 days with me -
then H. L. came to be with me the rest of the stay. Came
home tired but happy that I may have been the means of help
to a few.
Glad you like the little data we are able to get out - and
will be most happy to see you back at the Beach again when
practical - the Beach is quite a beehive of soldiers at
present, and under stand there will be many more thousands
here by summer, both camps are gradually filling up the old
rifle range - now Camp Pendleton and Ft. Story, are alive
with men.
Would very much like to know Dr. Ehrline [Geo. F. Ehrline,
N.D.], possibly he would like to see some of our literature,
ask if I may send him some case reports for his
consideration.
Yes - we do have disagreements with some who profess they
will follow suggestions in readings.
Yes - recall your speaking of your studies of the Bahai
teachings am sure they must be wonderful, would like to know
more about them if I am eligible to receive such. No, have
little idea of the teachings - and if have contacted them
have not been aware of same.
Now as regards Re-incarnation, as you know possibly was not
brought up to believe in same, but the information as comes
through me presented it as a fact and personally have had
experiences that to me seem to bear that out - whether it is
correct I do not know - but personally - can't help but
believe it from my own experience. Then I accept the Book
- tho Jewish History - the new testament - and Jesus as a
Savior and am sure he from the words of the book taught it,
tho a belief in same may not be necessary to salvation - it
explains much that I see about me every day that apparently
nothing else does.
But I have no fault to find with any one who can't have the
experiences that I have had that are proofs - to me tho
realize they cannot be proof to any one else - No, there have
been some that family tree could not explain.
Didn't hear - nor had I heard of the programme you speak of
from "Believe It or Not" tho have heard one or two on that
very programme that has apparently some of reincarnation
being a fact - and had the privilege on this recent visit to
N.Y. met some of these people on the programme in person.
The experience is proof the them - not to me - but my own are
proof to me.
Wish could talk this over with you - for as you say it is
hard to write about such things, takes too many words to give
a specific case - and then as said would not be proof to any
one except to the one experiencing same.
Would like to hear more of the teachings - and it is not just
curiosity would like to know the TRUTH of such a question.
Mrs. Cayce - Miss Gladys and Mae are all glad to hear from
you - hope you get up this way soon - do not know that I will
come to Fla this winter am expecting the boys to be called in
the draft - and that may demand that I stay close to home
shore.
Will be happy to hear from you again - please remember as to
Mr. [
1415] and the young man - how is he.
With all good wishes Sincerely Edgar Cayce
