consternation and almost shame that I start writing this
letter. It was in Dec. 1937, at the request of one of your
members, Mr. [

- 1476-2]. By some strange quirk of fate, and to my sorrow,
the reading was put away in my desk and forgotten! Only
recently, through the chance remark of a friend that I
unearthed your remarkable message and, as I read it I was
horrified at the golden opportunity that I had let pass by.
"Needless to say, the very day I telephoned to Dr. Harold J.
Reilly - as you suggested - and began my treatments, also
following the diet which you advised. In my impulsiveness to
make up for lost time I did not realize that your diagnosis
was made some years ago and, certainly, bodily changes have
taken place that may demand an entirely different mode of
treatment. I implore you, therefore, to give me another
reading and to tell me what to do. This time your advice
will be the paramount factor in my life and will be followed
through with a religious zeal. Until I hear from you again,
I shall of course continue my treatments [with Dr. Reilly]."

him from becoming "a great concert pianist", see copied into

"In the nature of my questions - no matter how intimate -
I am going to be as uninhibited as if I were talking to my
doctor."
1. Can I regain the strength and elasticity of my fingers?
2. Will my heart be able to stand the strain? 3. Are the
pains in my joints permanent, or can they be relieved?
4. What should I do for my prostatic condition? 5. Can
anything be done for my premature loss of potency? In this
connection should I use Orotone? 6. May I continue to smoke?
7. Does my staying up to very late hours harm me? 8. Are
eggs and pastries harmful for me? 9. Could you tell me
specifically what not to eat? 10. Could you give me my
correct date of birth?
7/07/43 "What can I do to cure the pain in the calf of my
right foot?"
10/07/43 "What is causing constant pains in lower back, and
what can I do for it?"
11/08/43 "What am I best suited for in my present life? Is
there anything I can do to help my mother enjoy better
health?"
