This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Artic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of January, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1520], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1446], temporary Macsherry Sponsorship.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [1520] and husband.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1520].
2. Now as we find, the disturbing conditions are of a complicated nature - through the effects that have been produced in the body, though the primary causes arise as we find from specific disturbances.
3. Yet in making applications for helpful benefits for the body, all of these - that is, the effects as well as the causes - must be taken into consideration.
4. But with precaution and persistence, a great deal of help may come to this body - and relief from the disturbances. And the correction of the causes should bring many, many years of activity and opportunity for the body.
5. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1520] we are speaking of, present in this room:
6. The blood supply indicates the lack of a full circulation, a condition that is not produced by a normal deficiency but deficiency in both red blood and in the abilities for coagulation in the white blood from drainage or from the flooding from the system itself.
7. Thus a strain is produced on the heart's activity, causing portions of the system to become with almost a lack of blood forces in themselves, and producing a deadening or leadened sensation through the extremities.
8. All of these then become a part of the condition.
9. As we find, there has been a multiple of disturbances through the pelvic organs from lacerations to the organs of the pelvis themselves.
10. Here is the source of the disturbance and the cause of the plethora condition to arise that, during Periods, allows the overactivity and drain from the system of the conditions that WOULD make for the normal activity in the circulatory system.
11. This condition produces naturally the strain upon the nervous system, as well as the circulatory system, as well as upon the strength and the efficiency of the body.
12. And when the body especially is on the feet or overactive by getting hot or cold, all of these cause an excess of activities in these directions.
13. These make for those conditions where there is the inability then to sleep at times, the inability for assimilation or for digestion by the great strain that is produced upon the assimilating system and in the attempt to produce that efficiency for the activities of the normal forces of the body.
14. Then, these become the reactions that are the complications or complex conditions.
15. And as has been indicated, in making application all of these should be taken into consideration.
16. In making helpful applications or activities then, first:
17. We would be precautious as to the DIETS of the body. Make for self, or have made, quantities of Beef Juice. Not so much at the time but make it rather every day - BEEF JUICE! Not the broths, but JUST the Beef Juice! Do not take this in large quantities, but take it often - three to four times a day, so that there will be at least two or three tablespoonsful taken during the day. This sipped with whole wheat wafers would be the better - seasoned to the taste. This will give strength, this will produce blood supply.
18. Each day take a douche with Atomidine in same. In the beginning make this rather weak, but gradually each week it may be increased in strength. Have the douche solution body-temperature. Do not have same too hot nor EVER cold, for it was the cause of a neuralgia at or following the birth of children that caused the condition in the present. Hence never use cold water in same. The proportions in the beginning would be ten drops of the Atomidine to each quart of water used. In the beginning of the next week add five more drops to the quart. Increase five drops each week until there is the ability to take a teaspoonful and a half of the Atomidine to the quart of water for the douche, which would require about three to five weeks before that quantity would be used in the quart of water, see? Use only the Fountain douche and not a force or pump douche.
19. Begin with the use of the Radio-Active Appliance for thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the afternoon or evening. If used of an evening, when or after the body has retired, it will be found that it will make the body rest, sleep well - which is needed. It needs the rest of a morning for the thirty minute period, too; lying down when this is taken. Each time the Appliance is used, circulate the attachments about the body; that is:
20. At the first treatment, make the first attachment to the right wrist and the last to the left ankle.
21. The next treatment, make the first attachment to the left wrist and the last to the right ankle.
22. Next time make the first attachment to the left ankle, the last to the right wrist.
23. The fourth treatment, make the first attachment to the right ankle, the last to the left wrist.
24. Then begin over again, alternating the attachments each time in the manner indicated; thus we make a circuit of the body; the anode attached first becoming the positive, the one attached last becoming the negative.
25. Also it would be well to massage across the lower portion of the abdomen and the small of the back and the sacral area, each evening, with an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. This is not just to be dabbed on but GENTLY massaged into the lower portions of the abdomen, especially close to the pubic bone, and across the small of the back and across the sacral area - just all the body will absorb. Take at least five to ten minutes in the massaging of this into the system each day. The surplus may then be gently wiped off with a clean cloth.
26. Of course, there are to be other foods in the diet than the Beef Juice, but the Beef Juice is to be taken as a tonic, as a stimulant. DO NOT eat ANY fried foods at ANY time! Whether vegetables or meat or what not, let these be broiled or boiled. The principal meats should be mutton, fowl or fish - but not fried, ANY of these!
27. Do this and be CONSISTENT with same; and after thirty or sixty days we would give further instructions.
28. Ready for questions.
29. Do this and keep an optimistic frame of mind. Keep off of the feet when the least bit tired, and especially those periods when there is the greater strain on the body.

1. 1/24/38 "Mother of 5 children, under care of Dr. Robert W. Woodhouse (M.D.) who has been unable to check the flow of blood, also growth or clotting in vagina. Very rundown and anemic, unable to gain strength."

REPORTS

1. 1/24/38 GD's note: Mrs. [1520], I think Miss [2315] at the ... will lend you her Radio-Active Appliance, which will save you from having to buy one, as they are rather expensive, and it is a most important part of your treatment. If you find difficulty in knowing how to attach it or use it, let me know and I'll demonstrate it for you. Also let me know if you are able to borrow it from Miss [2315].
   I'm enclosing an article explaining the theory of this Appliance, and I would like to say that I've seen it accomplish wonders when used according to Mr. Cayce's directions.
2. 2/23/42 Mrs. [1520]'s daughter [C...] requested another reading for her mother and was present for it, saying: "Soon after the last reading [1520-1 on 1/24/38] she was taken to the Marine Hospital for an operation. She has suffered terribly, and had to have several transfusions - now only weighs 72 lbs., can't eat anything to gain strength." [Apparently she did not follow any of the first reading.]
