5/10/40 [
1523]'s dream, after 4:45 A.M.: "I dreamed that
someone gave [
1650] and me a horse, a beautiful animal, dark
reddish brown. We were leading the horse home behind our
rather worn-out model A Ford. A very severe rain storm came
up, and we decided to put the horse in a pasture, where there
was shelter. Before we got out of sight of the pasture, we
had a flat tire, and stopped off in a building nearby to wait
for the storm to pass. The horse became very excited about
being left behind, and jumped over the fence (a tall wire
fence - the location of the pasture was Lynnhaven, Va.) and
came running to the building in which we were. I opened the
door to catch the horse, and it came charging half way into
the room. [
1650]'s first impulse was to shut the animal out,
as though he was afraid of it, but I insisted that I was not
afraid, and could handle the horse. In a few minutes the
horse was calm, and the rain had stopped.
"I had several other dreams. [
1650] and I were in a rather
large house, a house strange to us, and yet it seemed to be
ours. We were supposed to have quite a few guests, and I had
the dinner all ready to serve. It seemed that we (the guests
included) just milled around the house, and never did sit
down to the prepared meal.
"Mother [
1541] appeared and explained to me that a union for
the purpose of conception, should be spontaneous, and not
premeditated, and then disappeared."

11/09/55 Mrs. [
1523]'s comment: "This Sunday School going
lasted just long enough for [
1650] to begin to feel secure
about what I was doing, then he began to withdraw." [GD's
note: I rather think the withdrawal was on her part, too,
perhaps during the 1940--1941 astrological stress period
referred to in her Life reading, 1523-4.]
