2/20/76 Report from Susan M. Wolak:
"This is to respond to a request for information regarding
the two files I used recently, 'Skin:Boils, Volume 1 and 2.'
"I have had what is diagnosed as a skin staph infection
for about five years. Then two years ago I started getting
some dandy boils and abscesses. The antibiotics and staph
anitorin (the latter a series of shots 1/week for about six
months) stayed off the problem but didn't cure it. When I
went off the anitorin, the boils and abscesses came back
about six weeks later. Our osteopath said he couldn't help
me anymore, so I went to a dermatologist. She cultured a
boil and said it was 'staph abans,' and loaded me up with
antibiotics. I also had to place medicine in the nose, as
she said the focus of infection is in the nose, but the
germ 'raises cain' elsewhere.
"The son of a friend of mine was cured of boils, she said,
by a chiropractor, after a three year unsuccessful regime
of antibiotics. His problem was in the neck. I went to a
chiropractor, who said I had subluxations in the neck, also
in the back. Since going to him, I stopped having boils, but
still broke out in big pimples, and started recently getting
small abscesses again. So, I thought I would pick up the
files, apply what I could, and if necessary, consult a
Cayce oriented doctor.
"Reading 1532-4 in the file really rang bells. My outbreaks
occurred around my period, and she too had pimples and boils.
I tried the tartar-sulphur-epsom salt mix, and so far the
pimples went away, and an abscess was stopped cold in its
tracks.
"A friend of mine also had staph; like me she noticed
that the staph flares up during a menstrual period and at
mid-period, then ALMOST goes away in between. Vitamin B huge
doses of vitamin B combined with C promotes healing of the
skin and seems to keep the infection in check. This is not
mentioned in Cayce's files, but it is worth checking out.
Plantain leaves definitely relieve the pain, as Cayce says.
"Cayce also mentions the necessity of eliminating all fats
and oils from the diet. With my love of salads (and their
oily dressings) and my family's love of french fried foods,
I feel eliminating the oils and fats has helped a lot. I am
taking special pains in this diet, plus taking the compound,
and emphasizing eliminations. I have definitely been helped,
though I don't know if I am cured yet."
