This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of February, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1541], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her daughter, Mrs. [1523].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [1541] and Mrs. [1523].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [1541], present in this room.
2. Now as we find, while there are disturbing conditions, the suggestions for help and for aid would be rather in the direction for the preventatives of the inclinations that are indicated in the disturbed portions and the disturbing influences in the physical forces of the body.
3. As the causes have to do primarily with the eliminating and the assimilating systems, the disturbances as produced in the functioning of the organs that are involved in the assimilation and elimination would then be maintained at a normal balance; thus removing those disturbances and preventing the character of reaction as indicated in the present.
4. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [1541] we are speaking of, present in this room; first:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find the inclinations, owing to the character of toxic forces, to cause a disturbance not only with the organs of the upper hepatic circulation but at times with the activity of the heart itself.
6. Yet these as we find, with the proper precautions, would be eliminated from producing the disturbing factors in the body.
7. AS TO THE PRESSURES PRODUCED THROUGH THESE REACTIONS UPON THE NERVOUS SYSTEM:
8. These as we find are inclined to make for an incoordination between the activity of the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system.
9. Hence the acute conditions that arise across those areas of the lower hepatic circulation, and the activities to the organs of elimination as related to the lower hepatic circulation.
10. These become reflexes, and again - as indicated - when there is the normal balance created between the activities of elimination and assimilation, nearer and more normal conditions would be the resultant effects or activities through these portions of the system.
11. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find that at times there comes the involvement of the organs, owing to the disturbances produced in the activities of the portions of the system indicated.
12. Also there tends to be at times the formations that are inclined to segregate in the lymph from the abdominal area; which are produced as we find from the lack of this activity of coordination between the assimilating and eliminating systems of the body.
13. THEN AS WE FIND, IN BRINGING ABOUT THE NEARER NORMAL CONDITIONS FOR THIS BODY:
14. First we would begin with a specific that would create a coordinant activity between the circulatory system (that is, the blood supply) AND the eliminations as related to the alimentary canal; the active forces of these being upon the gall duct AND as related to the assimilations - and the activity of the other portions to remove the toxic forces FROM the system and thus relieve those pressures in the lymph circulation through the lower portion of the hepatics.
15. Then, we would begin by taking a quarter teaspoonful of Alcaroid thoroughly dissolved in a half glass of water, and then a full glass of water taken afterwards - at each period after eating.
16. And in an hour after taking the Alcaroid, take ONE pellet (not two, but one) of Zilatone. Take the Zilatone in this manner for five days, then leave off for three to four days - only leaving off the Zilatone, NOT the Alcaroid.
17. Then begin again; and keep this up for a period of at least seven to eight such ROUNDS - or five days of taking the Zilatone, three of the rest period from same, making a week for each round, see?
18. After the full period of the seven to eight rounds, in the manner indicated for the cleansing, THEN we would:
19. Use the Radio-Active Appliance for the equalizing of the pressures through the circulatory forces.
20. Also we would have a stimulation such as may be preferably given by a vibratory force from the electrically driven vibrator, along the cerebrospinal system.
21. Doing these, we will overcome the conditions through the pelvis (which cause the reactions to the lower limbs); we will overcome the accumulations and the activities through the circulatory forces as related to the coordination between the heart, the liver, the lungs.
22. In the matter of the diet, we would be rather precautious; though do not let diet become as a bugaboo or a burden to self. But rather refrain from any quantities of starches, ever. NEVER any red meat, or those combinations where there is the creating of the superacidities to the body; that is, large quantities of sweets.
23. Not that sweets are not to be taken at times, but not too MUCH of these. Be moderate in all things, and we will bring the nearer normal conditions to this body.

25. (Q) Is iced tea consumed in quantity harmful to this body?
    (A) This depends upon whether or not there are those foods taken soon AFTERWARDS that tend to produce hardships upon the digestive system. This taken as a beverage, very well; as a food, no - not good for the body!
26. (Q) Please give a corrective diet for this body.
    (A) As just indicated. Rather than becoming subservient to or ruled by a diet, just be precautious as to the character or type of food values as indicated; that is: Do not take citrus fruits or their juices AND cereals at the same meal! Do not eat potatoes, spaghetti, macaroni - any two at the same meal. Do not use great quantities of sweets at any time. Beware of fried foods - these become hard upon the digestion and upon the nerve forces of the body.
27. (Q) What causes the occasional itching of the groin?
    (A) The circulation as related to those indications of the superficial circulation to SEPARATE, as it were.
    If there are the applications of the electrically driven vibrator - that is, AFTER the cleansing of the system - we will find these conditions disappearing.
28. (Q) When should the vibrator be used and how long at a time?
    (A) As indicated, AFTER the seven periods or rounds of the Alcaroid AND Zilatone. For THEN we will find the system will RESPOND the better to same.
    If there is the disturbance or the itching, then use locally the Prescription DDD.
29. (Q) Where should the vibrator be applied?
    (A) As given, upon the cerebrospinal system; along either side of the cerebrospinal system itself.
30. (Q) What causes the cramping across the lower front vaginal region?
    (A) Those inclinations for the pressures upon the eliminating systems to cause the irritation to the portions where there HAS been in times back some breakage in the tissue itself.
    This should be maintained or kept in position by a support.
31. (Q) What type of support should be used? external or internal?
    (A) External, as we find is preferable; that which is a lower - or LOW abdominal support.
32. (Q) What causes occasional spotting 16 years after menopause?
    (A) This incoordination between the eliminating and the assimilating systems, or those conditions that arise from there NOT being the full coordination between the activities of digestion AND the activities of assimilating and elimination. Nervous conditions, see?
    Hence the applications not only of the medicinal properties for the CORRECTING of the assimilation and the eliminating forces, but those that take the pressures off the nerve forces also.
33. (Q) Should I be alarmed by this?
    (A) Not at all if the precautionary measures are taken as indicated, by making the corrections now.
34. (Q) What is the significance of the small red spots on the skin that itch when they break?
    (A) As indicated, the incoordination between the eliminating systems of the body. It is poisons that should be carried through the alimentary canal, being thrown off through the respiratory or perspiratory system.
    Thus the effective combative activity is the SYSTEMATIC use of properties as indicated that will correct not only the balance as related to the blood pressure and blood supply, but as to make for a coordination with same.
35. (Q) What can be done for the condition of the legs?
    (A) As indicated - where there is the heaviness in the veins will be aided by the eliminations being set up, and by the removal of the pressure; and especially will be aided by the use of the support - if it is properly adjusted.
36. (Q) What causes soft lump just below left collar bone?
    (A) This as we find is that indication we have mentioned, as to the lymph at times forming in segregated pockets.
    Now, with the use of the other things indicated, this specific condition will disappear if it will be massaged gently - not severely - with an equal combination of Mutton Tallow, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor - CONSISTENTLY!
37. (Q) Will once a day be sufficient?
    (A) Once a day is sufficient.
38. (Q) Should excessive exercise be discontinued?
    (A) Excessive exercise is rather hard upon the locomotory centers; while normal or NOMINAL exercise is well, and is desirable - but not overstraining with same.
39. (Q) The Radio-Active Appliance should be used in the ordinary manner?
    (A) If it hadn't been, we would have given it!
40. (Q) How long should it take to correct this condition?
    (A) As indicated, we will see the changes after SEVEN ROUNDS of the properties for the cleansing.
    Do these things, and as we find we will bring the better conditions for this body.
