3/09/38 Letter from Mrs. [
1158] to EC: "...I am indeed
grateful that you were able to get the information we were
seeking for Mr. [
1546]. He has been suffering for a year,
but due to the fact that he was a Christian Scientist, I was
unable to mention to him anything about your work. However,
the suffering grew so intense, that at last his wife insisted
that he go to an osteopath. The osteopath said he was in
such a dreadful state that he insisted upon a general medical
diagnosis before he would take the case. (This happened
while I was away for 2 weeks with Mr. [
1151]). When I
returned, it appeared that X-rays, and other examinations
at the hospital revealed nothing wrong, but the INTENSE PAIN
CONTINUED. At this point I felt it was right to talk to his
wife (my sister) about your work. She was interested and
wanted a Reading immediately. She, also said she wanted to
pay for it, but due to her husband's illness she was low in
cash, and could only pay $5.00 down, now. This amount I am
enclosing, and will ask for the remainder to be charged to
our account. (I felt it was well to let her pay for what
she could, since she wanted to.) She said the doctors had
found Mr. [
1546] very difficult to get along with due to
his Christian Science, and that she did not know whether
she could talk to him about the Reading or not, because he
took arbitrary streaks and would refuse to do things or try
things.
"However, since talking with Gladys, possibly we can talk
over the Reading with Dr. Green, the Osteopath, and ask him
to get Mr. [
1546] to follow the instructions. I am sure,
one way or another we will help Mr. [
1546] back to normal
health, and back to his job. As a wife and six children are
dependent upon him this is a vital thing to accomplish and he
cannot continue much longer without help..."
2/16/39 Mr. [
1546]'s cousin obtained a Physical Reading for
another cousin, Mr. [
1822].
10/24/77 Mr. [
1546]'s grandson wrote requesting a copy of his
grandfather's reading.
11/07/77 Copies of
1546-1, 1546-2, and 1546-3 were mailed to
the grandson.
