Mr. Edgar Cayce
Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Miss [
1548] wrote me she had talked to you about me. I have
read the literature your secretary, Miss Davis, sent me, and
I am very anxious to have a reading.
Will you give me a reading, Mr. Cayce, on March 30th? As I
am confined to bed, most any hour will be alright but if you
will give me time between 10 and 12 in the morning, I shall
devote that time in meditation.
I have already gotten the charred, oak key and will buy the
Apple Brandy today. I do hope the gases inhaled from the
brandy will help my cough. I have such a very deep cough and
such a hard one that the mucus, once loosened is tinged with
blood.
1. What can I do to check the bad coughing spells?
2. How can I correct the phlegm condition?
3. How can I overcome the terrible shortness of breath which
makes me feel I am smothering?
4. During coughing spells when I can't catch my breath - what
can be done to overcome this condition?
5. Since artificial pneumothorax and the regular prescribed
rest cure have failed to promote healing in my diseased
lungs, what, if anything will heal them?
6. What can I take to gain some weight and strength?
I should like to have Miss [
1548] present at the reading, so
please have your secretary notify her when it is to take
place.
I sincerely hope I will be benefited by your advice and I am
very anxious for the reading.
With thanks - in anticipation.
Yours sincerely, [

REPORTS
4/04/38 [
1560]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce;
A copy of my reading arrived on Saturday.
I notice that you suggest Asheville as a place to live. It
is my understanding that the winters there are so severe, and
I am so tired of the cold winters. Of course I want to abide
by your decision and will try to carry out the prescribed
routine, if possible, although I face innumerable hardships.
It is going to be difficult to fix up my keg and to get my
prescription filled but I'm going to try hard.
I'll let you know next week if I've had any luck.
I am enclosing a dollar, on my account.
4/08/38 EC's letter to Miss [
1560]:
Dear Miss [
1560]:
Thanks for yours of 4th - do hope it will be possible for you
to give the information a fair trial - why should you have to
stay in Asheville through a severe winter - why not be well
enough to where ever you wish - that is not just talk - have
seen - yes had in my own home cases just as severe as yours -
or nearly so anyway - and in less than six months they were
on the road to health - not one several of them, and some
that were sent to Asheville vicinity at that.
If can be of any help in fixing your keg will be glad to do
so. Miss [
1548] was here about her own, and between us am
sure can help some, however the instruction for its
preparation was rather full don't you think?
Know am glad to hear and to try and help if possible.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
4/16/38 DECEASED - phone call from Miss [
1548], said she
passed away few days after getting to Asheville; nurse said
her heart couldn't hold out under high altitude; had
hemorrhages, etc. [
1548] didn't know whether she was able to
get the pellets, etc., or not, but had note from her saying
she was going to try and follow the entire Rdg.
