5/04/38 Mrs. [
1010]'s letter: "I have persuaded Mr. and Mrs.
[...] to have a reading for their boy [
1588]. They said they
would send the money last night. You don't have to send them
the hour as he is always at the hospital, for the sooner we
get the reading the quicker he can get on the road to
recovery. If nothing can be done for his spine (it is stiff)
helpless in legs, can't move them - they are drawing up;
he vomits some times for days. A good question - since I
omitted telling them about questions - What vitamins must
he have? Will the spine ever become normal?... Will he
ever be able to walk again? Will his eye sight become
normal?... I will direct them in your suggestions, of
course I expect my treatment will be needed. I think they
ought to take him home as the doctor is doing nothing but
giving him lights and charging $5.00 per day. ...I hope we
can get a reading by special air mail, then Sunday they will
come to me with it so I can explain the terms used..."

5/01/38 letter: "...Will be very glad to
try and be of help for the boy in the hospital - you know how
children especially - appeal to me..."
REPORTS
5/16/38 Mrs. [
1010]'s report: "We are following your
suggestion concerning [
1588] I think he is a little better.
He can see better, his feet are not so stiff in the joints.
But Dr. Baugh has taken 3 X-rays in the past 10 days and
found stone in the bladder. They want the doctor to operate.
I am sure that is not the thing to do as a bladder operation
is awful as they have to wear a tube the rest of the life -
nearly always. Of course the parents said "Why didn't your
Mr. Cayce find the growth in the bladder and tell us what
it is and what to do about it." The growth is the size of
a bantam hen egg. All I could do or say is I will write him
so he can check about vapor and steam baths, as Dr. Baugh
will be ready for me about July 1st, to take charge of his
baths."
