6/28/49 GD's note: We heard that Mrs. [
1602]'s husband,
Mr. [
1564], died about a month ago, with T.B. HLC told
me he called on them soon after he returned from overseas.
Mrs. [
1602] had become quite "sensitive" (receiving her
'inspirational' writings, etc.) They still remained in their
beautiful home but due to Mr. [
1564]'s illness they lived
pretty much to themselves.
Mrs. [
1472] told me that both Mrs. [
1602] and her husband
drank quite heavily - that Mrs. [
1602] boasted that it was
nothing for them to drink a pint of whiskey before dinner, as
a regular routine. However, HLC stated that in the last few
years they changed to wine.
We later heard that Mrs. [
1602] was quite broken up over her
husband's death and became more and more a recluse, again
drinking quite heavily.
11/10/53 We heard via Mrs. [
1472] that she heard that Mrs.
[
1602] had recently died, very suddenly.
4/26/54 Dr. Richard Van Rumpt [N.D.]'s letter: "You [HLC]
will probably remember calling on me in my NYC office shortly
after your dad passed on. I am a friend of Mrs. [
1602] who,
by the way, passed on with cancer."
