TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1607].
2. Now as we find, the conditions that cause the greater distress are the results or effects of disturbances in the eliminations through the system.
3. Thus we find that the poisons or refuse forces that should be eliminated through other channels have set up an activity in the superficial circulation.
4. Hence we have an infection from an affected influence in the body.
5. These then, through the great aggravation that has been aroused by the irritation, the rubbing, the reinfection, have produced rather a constitutional disturbance.
6. So, as we find, to bring any character of relief other than temporary, we must first break down those resistances, or change the attitudes and the activity as it were of the functioning organs of the system; before a permanent or any lengthy period of relief might be brought.
7. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, Mr. [1607] we are speaking of:
8. In the blood supply we find that in times back, by inattention as to regular periods of eliminations, then later by an injury and later through the effect of the activities of same, there were produced toxic forces in the system that first brought about a congestion through the activity of the liver itself.
9. Then, with the effects of the malarial condition which existed, these began to form in the superficial circulatory forces the conditions in the epidermis, and in the deeper portion channels through which these characters of poisons were being as it were eliminated.
10. With such continued irritation, we find these have formed - as indicated - into a disturbance that draws upon the system itself by the very manner in which the superficial or the skin circulation itself is irritated.
11. These then have left the organs - as the liver, the kidneys and the eliminating channels - in such conditions that there is little of the drawing from the system, through the circulatory forces, for the superficial poisons to be carried off through the eliminating channels in the alimentary canal. And only the natural drosses, as from the lack of combustion of digestive forces, are eliminated through these channels.
12. Hence the disturbing factors have been left in the system, through the conditions that should be carried through their normal channels of elimination.
13. As to the effects produced upon the hepatic circulation, or the liver and kidneys, we find at times a greater distress in the eliminating through the canal from the kidneys to the urinary canal. These especially cause disturbance through the areas about the prostate and portions of the scrotum. These become swollen, through the excesses of the activities there; owing to those same disturbances as indicated.
14. Then, as we find, we would begin with these:
15. First, we would begin taking small quantities of Olive Oil SEVERAL times a day, see? Have regular intervals of taking same, which for this body would be better. Take about a quarter to half a teaspoonful at least three to four times a day. Now this doesn't mean that it should be taken for a few days and then skipped, but take it EVERY DAY for the next six months!
16. After the Olive Oil has been taken for a little while, three to four to five days, begin also with Zilatone - in this manner:
17. About half an hour to an hour after the morning meal take one tablet, after the noon meal take one tablet, and after the evening meal take one tablet. Continue taking in this manner for at least a four week period. Then leave off for a week, and then take again. Keep on taking until there have been four to five rounds of four weeks each, with a rest period of a week in between, see?
18. Occasionally, every week or so, use high enemas to cleanse the colon; using a saline and soda solution, that we may cleanse the colon thoroughly of the poisons.
19. As we begin then to make for an activity through the alimentary canal, we will find the irritations will be gradually lessened; especially if the diet is kept in a way and manner which is consistent and persistent with same.
20. Do not eat white bread of ANY kind.
21. Do not eat white potatoes of any character. These may ONLY be taken (the white potatoes) if the jacket is eaten, and very LITTLE of the bulk or pulp or mealy portion is taken.
22. Do not eat hog meat of any kind. If meats are to be taken at all, use fish, lamb or fowl.
23. No fried foods at any time. All of the foods should be broiled, boiled or stewed or the like.
24. Quantities of citrus fruit juices are well (as oranges, limes, lemons and grapefruit); but do not take these at the same meal with cereals.
25. Vegetable juices are well.
26. No quantities of greases.
27. These should be adhered to.
28. To allay the irritations where there is the continuing to run, or the breaking in the superficial portions of the circulatory forces - as on parts of body, about the groin, along the secrets and portions of the abdomen and parts of the limbs, and other portions of the body, we would apply a mixture of Iodex with the Animated Ash. To the ounce of Iodex add about fifteen grains of the Animated Ash, but this should be worked THOROUGHLY, THOROUGHLY together! Use this once or twice a day; twice a day in the beginning. And as the eliminations are kept we will find these will GRADUALLY be allayed.
29. Ready for questions.
30. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. 5/29/38 [1607]'s letter to EC:
   ..., Ala.
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
   Dear Sir
Your letter to hand giving date June 3 - 2:30 to 3:30 will be ok. My house address would be South across the river bridge at Selma 18 miles on the Old Selma Pleasant Hill & Minter road. The Drs say I have weeping exema [eczema]. The worst effected part is my groin & strodum [scrotum] & itches so bad & water leaks from the places. Dr. [...] of Birmingham treated me with EX Ray and would dry up in a few days & break out again. I have had several M.D.'s to treat me with salves & liquid to apply but would not relieve me. I am now under Miss Nona Grapes, N.D. She says my trouble was brought on by poor circulation & elimination. I have suffered with constipation all by life. I hope & trust you can give me relief, I have suffered so long.
   Rest
For laxitive [laxative] I am taking Magnesia & Innerclean.
