This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of July, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1632], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her brother, Mr. [1568].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1632].
2. Now as we find, disturbing conditions or influences make reactions that at times cause anxiety to the body.
3. But that as we find needing correction would be rather in the direction of warnings, or measures to prevent disturbances.
4. And with the correcting of those influences as we find that produce the inclinations, we would find much of that which has been the cause of the anxiousness would be relieved and removed from the body as disturbing forces.
5. These than are the conditions as we find them with this body in the present, [1632]:
6. In the blood supply we find indications of there being at times very poor eliminations.
7. And with the subluxation that exists as a part of the disturbance, in the lumbar, - from conditions that have existed from the birth of the second child - these produce then a nerve reaction and cause activities in which the eliminations cause an excess amount of drosses or poisons or eliminant forces that are as accumulations.
8. Then these through portions of the body cause the pressures between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal nervous system.
9. Thus we find anxieties through the abdominal area at times. At other times we find the effects are wholly as pressures upon the nervous forces of the body. Then again we find there are at times anxieties as to the effect or conditions produced in the superficial circulation. At other times the reaction is upon the organs of the sensory forces.
10. All of these, as we find, may be eliminated through the activities as would bring first the corrections through the lumbar-sacral areas, as well as coordinating these with the dorsal and throughout the cervical areas; but more specific corrections made in the lumbar and lower dorsal areas.
11. These we would make osteopathically. In the beginning, these would be given about twice or three times each week; GENTLY but positively, see?
12. Also with these we would use the vibratory forces from the Radio-Active Appliance, to make for better resting for the body. This would preferably be used not in the evening but in the afternoon, as the body rests; for the body should rest during a portion of the afternoon. Use each day for at least forty minutes. Circulate the attachments about the body in this manner:
13. The anode marked to be attached first would ALWAYS be attached first to the body; the first day to the right wrist, the other anode to the left ankle.
14. Next day, the first attachment would be to the left wrist, while the other would be to the right ankle.
15. Third day, attach first to the left ankle, last to the right wrist.
16. Fourth day, make the first attachment to the right ankle, the last attachment to the left wrist.
17. Thus a circle has been made of the body. Then commence over again, alternating the attachments each day in this manner. Continue for two or three rounds, then leave off about a week, and then use again.
18. Use these periods each afternoon as the periods for meditation upon CONSTRUCTIVE and creative influences; not only for the physical but the mental and spiritual activities of the body.
19. Do these consistently.
20. In the matter of the diet, keep to those things that are more of the alkalin nature; that is, keep closer to those things that are alkalin-producing, or about twenty percent of the acid-producing foods to eighty-percent of the alkalin-producing.
21. Do not use white breads or potatoes, spaghetti or macaroni at the same meals; that is, no two of these at one meal.
22. Do not combine fried foods ever, or very seldom, with the diets.
23. Meats, if these are taken, should consist principally of fish, fowl and lamb, rather than other meats.
24. If these applications are kept, and especially the mental attitudes towards creative forces and spiritual activity, we will find better conditions coming to this body.

REPORTS

1. On awakening [from reading 1632-1], Mr. Cayce said he had never experienced such a closeness in giving a physical reading; it was almost as if he were in the presence of the body; felt he could almost describe what she looked like; that is: very pleasant looking - not gross and yet not exactly petite or finicky; rather a person on the order of Mrs. Cornell Williams [Helen Fox Williams - formerly Mrs. Roy T. Booker] a much heavier person.
2. 7/11/38 [1632]'s letter to EC:

   Dear Mr. Cayce -
   I was very much pleased to receive your "reading" this morning, and have already sent for the Radio-Active Appliance which you recommended for my use.
   I am sure that poor circulation is a factor contributing to my headaches & though I have been taking osteopathic treatments over a period of several years, but never regularly for any length of time. I am starting in today, to take three treatments a week, according to your suggestion. Also, will watch the diet more carefully, though I always make it a point to eat more alkalinizing than acid-forming foods.
   I will gladly give you my case history which I will enclose separately. [See Par. R3 below.]
   I am inclosing a check for twenty dollars and would appreciate having a Mental and Spiritual Reading, at your earliest opportunity. I feel sure that you might help me in solving my emotional problem. And I know that freedom from conflict and confusion would be a tremendous aid in freeing me from the headaches.

3. 7/11/38 Case History:
   ... Avenue ..., Mich. Since 1933 I have been suffering from very severe headaches, of a migraine nature - though I have recently been told by a nerve specialist that they are not TRUE migraine. The first three or four attacks were several months apart during a period, of 2 yrs. and each was definitely the result of an emotional upset. Each time the headache was VERY severe, accompanied by continuous vomiting, and lasting three or four days during which time I had several shots of morphine.
   In the summer of 1935 I experienced a tremendously severe emotional conflict - and started to have headaches practically every week - about this time a doctor here recommended "[Zymigan?]" to me, and since then I have used it continually - an injection of only one half c.c. usually stops the headache within an hour or two at most, and am quite all right & able to be about as usual.
   Since 1935 I have been under a continuous mental and emotional strain, and have never gone longer than seventeen days without a headache - and the last two months I have had them as frequently as every second or third day.
   The pain is usually on one side of the head at a time - behind and over the eye - and there is a great deal of congestion in the chords of the neck. Also, pain in the sacro-iliac joint.
   I have been to many doctors, & have had all sorts of tests and experiments, but so far, no one has been able to tell me a definite cause, or cure, for the headaches.
   I am thirty eight years old, and perfectly healthy - aside from considerable nervous tension. I have a migraine astigmatism, and have worn glasses for reading, etc. for many years. Last month my eyes were tested, & found that the ocular images of an unequaled size (Aniseikonia) and am now wearing Iseikonic lenses to control that defect.
   I have had X-ray pictures taken of my brain, neck, sinuses, chest, etc., with no abnormal findings. I have had the fluoroscope - test and there is nothing wrong with my gastro-intestinal tract. Two years ago I had an atypical menopause, induced by Radium. One year ago I had an operation on a sphenoid sinus as there was no opening on one side - I had tonsils removed - they were badly infected. Also had had hemorrhoids removed. Have had urinary proteose injections all to no avail.
   I have had quite a lot of pain in the lumbar region of my back - due to a slipping sacro-ileac joint, whenever - it pains me, I have it corrected osteopathically - but almost always, when I have a bad headache, my back pains me considerably too. Up to the time these headaches started I was a perfectly healthy, normal person - I have always been athletic, and very active, and now I find life almost intolerable, never knowing at what time my plans will have to be changed, because of a headache - and having to think constantly of my health, & live almost like an invalid.
   When I heard of Mr. Cayce, through my brother [1568], and of the marvelous way in which he had diagnosed and cured his trouble, I immediately wrote to request a reading. I am hoping that Mr. Cayce's advice to me will be as beneficial as it was to my brother - and I shall let you know of the progress that I am sure I will make under his direction.
