7/14/38 GD's note: Miss [
1639], have you considered
Dr. Taylor? [Waller L. Taylor, M.D.] He is a splendid
surgeon, and the Readings have recommended him in several
instances. I believe he would pay attention to the advice
given in the Reading, as to just how the finger is to be
re-opened and corrected, the nerves tied, etc. If you have
confidence in Dr. Taylor, I believe this would be better
than going back to the other surgeon who would probably
not consider what the Reading has given and might still
not tie the nerves properly. This is merely a suggestion.
Of course, you must rely upon your choice of the physician
to do the job properly. But I have observed several
surgical operations by Dr. Taylor, one in my own family,
and I personally don't believe you could find a better
surgeon for attending to your finger. Then, too, I am
backed up in my opinion by the Readings having recommended
him. Please let us know what you decide, and how you
get along; for you know we are interested. I believe
the indication is that you should take the Codiron about
a week before having the operation.
9/28/38 Request: "Dr. Eley [Clayton W. Eley, M.D.] giving
X-Ray treatments, after Dr. Gwathmey [M.D.] grafted a piece
of skin taken from leg. The finger flared up the other day
and was sort of oozy. Must have been the X-Ray setting up
a cooperative vibration between the two pieces of flesh.
Finger feels better now, but I want to be sure I'm doing the
right thing. I'd appreciate it if Mr. Cayce could - at his
convenience, since I'm not suffering with it right now - ask
these questions for me in a Reading. I appreciate what you
all have tried to do for me, and just wish I could have had
the Reading followed as indicated. One doctor advises taking
the finger off if another flare-up occurs, but another says
that even after removing the finger I'm apt to have trouble.
So I'd like to know what the Reading advises. Thank you."
