1/23/39 [
1645]'s letter to EC:
"...I received your Reading Saturday morning, January 21st,
and took it to Dr. Shackleford that afternoon. He called two
of our largest drug companies in the city and neither of them
knew what Atomidine was. Said they had never heard of it, so
Dr. Shackleford asked me to write you and ask you what it is
and where to get it as he had never heard of it also.
"I was very much surprised to get the Reading, as I had
written you that we would just postpone the Reading for a
while. However, I appreciate it very much and hope you are
not displeased at my asking for it. I felt sure you could
tell me something that could help me. However, you did not
mention the anemic condition. I was very anxious about that.
It has been one of my stubborn troubles all along, and felt
sure you could help relieve that.
"I shall try very hard to carry out all of your instructions,
just as I did last fall, but you know when you have to go two
and three times a week to a doctor it doesn't take it long to
run up into a large bill and that was what mine was doing.
"Kindly tell us all about the Atomidine that you can and just
where you think we might get it.
"I sincerely thank you for the unexpected Reading..."
1/26/39 EC wrote sending circular on Atomidine.
3/01/40 Report by EC's sister, Mrs. W. A. McPherson:
"...She came to me for oil packs about 3 weeks at beginning
of treatment. It was all in opposition to husband and
daughter - she followed it only a short period. I tried
to contact her for report. They say she is on the bed a
great deal of her time. As yet I haven't been able to talk
to her..."
