This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of September, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1688], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Misses [1688] and [2186] and their mother.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1688]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, conditions are greatly improved from those as we have had heretofore; yet there are still those tendencies and inclinations that at times cause a great deal of anxiety.
4. There is still the subluxation, or the deeper-seated condition with the draining of the gall duct. This at times tends to give the lack of the proper amount of the gastric flow, as to cause imperfect digestion. Hence we find those tendencies at times for the foods to cause a great deal of disturbance; producing gas in the duodenum and at times tendencies for the lack of proper eliminations through the alimentary canal.
5. These as we find in turn produce nervousness, and taxations to the body; at other times the body easily tires, as from the toxic forces and the lack of the central circulation - both the lymph and blood supply - giving sufficient activities through the lack of assimilation and body-building forces.
6. These are tendencies and inclinations, though all of this in itself HAS been improved.
7. We would continue with the periods of applying the Castor Oil Packs; at least an hour a day for three days in succession. After the third day, or at the end of the third day, take two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.
8. Then for three or four days, each morning before the meal is taken, take a teaspoonful of ENO SALTS. After this is taken for some four or five days, leave this off three to four days.
9. Have then another series of the Castor Oil Packs, followed by the Olive Oil.
10. Then the rest period. Continue in this manner for some three or four series; leave off then for some weeks; then commence all over again.
11. There is the need for the ADJUSTING of the functioning system as related to those disturbances indicated.
12. If the body has periods of over-tiredness, then a thorough relaxing mechanically (that is, osteopathically) would be well.
13. As to the diet, this would be well for an outline; though, to be sure, this is not all that would be taken:
14. Mornings - alternate with citrus fruit, especially at this season of the year, stewed figs, prunes or the like, using a little milk or cream; with very dry toast, not buttered. Any cereal drink, coffee or tea if desired, may be taken.
15. Noons - a great deal of vegetables; though no dried beans or the like of ANY nature. However, green beans, salads or any other green vegetables are well.
16. Evenings - these would be the periods when the meat for the body should be taken; fish, fowl or lamb, but never any fried foods; with the well balanced vegetable diet, of course. Occasionally roast beef with boiled or mashed potatoes, with the JUICES from the meat, may be taken; but this only occasionally, to give weight or body to the activities through the system.
17. These as we find will bring the better conditions for this body. These need to be persistently kept; not merely as a corrective but a curative measure being brought about in the system.
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) What causes "blank" feeling in head, and inability to concentrate?
    (A) Pressures of gastric forces and poisons in the system. Hence the character of the eliminations as indicated. Have periods of the packs with the systematic "oiling" as it were of the whole intestinal tract; for olive oil is a food, and is assimilated by the system; while Eno Salts has a fruit reaction and is thus alkalizing as well as forming better eliminations. And these will correct those pressures produced by gastric disturbances as well as toxic forces in the system.
    These also will aid the disturbances with the mouth, teeth and gums; though there are the needs for local attention also. We find that the massage with Ipsab will be most beneficial. In the beginning do this at least every other day. Then afterwards, when there are better conditions, this may be done once a week.
20. (Q) Would Ventriculin be good for me?
    (A) It may be good later on; but in the present we find the needs of the enzyme forces by Ventriculin would not be best - until there is some purifying of the system. After the second or third series of the Packs and the cleansings, Ventriculin with Iron WOULD be very well.
21. (Q) Why tight feeling in stomach after eating, especially of morning?
    (A) Just as indicated.
    Do those things as we have outlined. Be persistent. Do not weary because it requires long periods; for you will not only relieve a great deal of uneasiness and discomfort but prevent more serious disturbances.
