Dear Miss [
1713]
Have yours written Saturday. It certainly is most gratifying
to have a letter of this kind, from one who appreciates what
I have been trying to do and one who is getting the results
you are.
Now, regarding the questions you asked, I will explain them
as fully as I know how. First, I'd like to say, I think it
would be nice indeed for you to show that part of your
reading to the osteopath. Surely you must have talked to her
about same. She is at least in sympathy with the work. To
be sure, you would not want to make her antagonistic to the
treatment and I feel that she will not be.
As to the lesions, there is no reason why they should not
disappear entirely. As I understand the condition, scars of
same are tissue that may or may not be enlivened to produce
adhesions, which form lesions, either by inactivity or by the
improper action of some form or another. Anyone who has had
operations needs especially to be careful of this condition
arising, especially an abdominal operation when a body is
inclined to be constipated. This becomes very detrimental.
The osteopath's treatment once a week, with your exercise,
should be sufficient, I am sure, to relieve you of all of
this trouble, and I believe that she will agree with you that
this is correct.
Now, as to the mental gymnastics, I think this is the
interpretation and what is meant: Your mental attitude
towards self and toward everything in general is very good,
and as has been meant for you to have, but that you must not
take your exercise nor your osteopathic treatments merely as
something to be gotten through with and gotten off your hands
but rather with that mental attitude that "this is necessary
for my best physical and mental condition, and as I am
performing these I am gradually growing better and better."
I think this is the attitude which is meant regarding the
mental gymnastics, especially as related to the physical
conditions.
Again thanking you for your letter, trusting that you will
let me hear from you from time to time, and with kindest
personal regards, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
