This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of May, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1727], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., through Mr. [257].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. (It would be better if he would keep quiet a minute! - No use of bawling THAT man out!)¹
4. Now, as we find, there are many conditions to be taken into consideration, if there would be the better influences brought about in the physical body (and this just happening is one of those!).
5. There cannot be the continued holding of animosities, or of only seeing the adverse things in people's attempts to be of help, and keep a strong physical body. That one wishes on another is, as Job of old declared, "That which I hated has come upon me."
6. In the physical forces of the body we find these disturbances, and the effects that are produced:
7. There is a lack of proper glandular activity. Portions of this have been caused by the lack of the proper amount of calcium in the system. And this affects the circulation, especially as related to those glands particularly of the thyroid - or portions of same; those as related in part to the digestive system, and parts of those glands that cause these disturbances between the liver and the kidneys; the glands that destroy or that use sugars in the body.
8. While these are not excessive in the present, those tendencies for irritation cause a form of acidity that upsets the circulation through alimentary canal.
9. The irritations through the prostate area, while not a great deal of disturbance, cause in portions of the folds of the sphincter centers disturbing conditions.
10. Hence we have these as reflex action:
11. At times a good deal of trouble with the burning of eyes; at times a good deal of disturbance with the scalp, and the hair; at others a fullness in the throat, especially of morning.
12. At other periods we have some irritation across the diaphragm area, and in the liver and in the alimentary canal.
13. All of these in the present also produce this tendency for the body to become easily irritated - in the mental attitude and activity.
14. But the mental should be controlled by the mind, and the mental, and not making the body's feelings an excuse! Most men, even as this one, look for excuses for this, that or the other! The trouble is always within self and self's attitude, and self's activities.
15. Know what you believe, what you wish to do, and know that it is not at variance to Creative Influences - or God.
16. For, if ye hate thy brother, what will it profit thee to gain the whole world? And the brother doesn't mean the son of thy mother! It may be the one that's the farthest from thee, and the greatest persecutor of thine own people! Hate brings that which is irritating, especially to those that are creative in other directions.
17. This body has a good mind, he has a good aptitude for activities with the fellow man. Don't abuse it - use it, as constructive influences! THAT should be the first mental attitude of the body. BE CREATIVE! Think well not only of what you are going to do, or what others can do for you, but MORE as to what you may do for others!
18. Then in the physical forces of the body, - first:
19. Begin taking one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken, for at least ten days. Do this each morning, for ten days.
20. Then begin (not before) with the general hydrotherapy treatment each week, or the Swedish Massage. First there should be rather the fume baths than the steam or the dry heat cabinet bath, see, followed with a thorough rubdown using an equal combination of Peanut Oil and Nujol - for this body. Massage into the body all that will be absorbed, especially into the spinal area and across the sacral, also across the diaphragm and lower portion of the rib area, kneading also the abdomen with same. Not too heavy, but gently, so that the body absorbs these oils.
21. Preferably have these treatments in the evening - once each week - and retire soon afterwards.
22. Do not attempt to exercise or to work of evenings, or nights, after these are given. Have a regular period for these, and rest afterward.
23. When the hydrotherapy treatments are begun, begin taking internally a small quantity of Glyco-Thymoline - five drops in water - as an intestinal antiseptic, each evening preferably, when ready to retire.
24. Do add calcium in the form of CALCIOS. Take this at least three times each week, just a small quantity spread on a whole wheat cracker as you would butter. Take this also with the evening meals.
25. Do not take any of these things just haphazardly. Either do it as indicated or don't do it at all!
26. Don't take the Glyco-Thymoline one day and then forget it for two or three, or take it two or three and then leave it off for a day or two. But take it regularly, for five-day periods; then leave it off five days, and then take again - and so on.
27. Take the hydrotherapy regularly for at least ten to twelve or fifteen, - but don't begin these until there has been the cleansing of the glandular forces by the taking of the one drop of Atomidine in water each morning before breakfast for the ten days.
28. Use a very weak solution of the Atomidine as a massage for the hair. To two ounces of Distilled Water put ten drops of the Atomidine. Use this on the head and hair. Put this on dry, - that is, with the hair dry. THEN use the soap, and preferably tar soap afterward, as the shampoo - for the thorough cleansing of same. Do this, and we will find better conditions for this body.

30. (Q) What causes the condition to the right hand and what will cure it?
    (A) Lack of proper eliminations. Use the hydrotherapy treatments, the sweats, as well as the intestinal antiseptic (Glyco-Thymoline). This is a neuritic condition.
31. (Q) The condition of tongue and mouth?
    (A) The intestinal tract.
32. (Q) Singing in left ear?
    (A) With the massages all of these effects should disappear. This is the poor circulation through the coordinated centers of the sensory system. Most of this is incoordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal, - or the mental attitudes.
33. (Q) Does smoking have any effect on his health?
    (A) Smoking in moderation is not harmful; excessive, is harmful.
34. (Q) Does liquor have any effect on his health?
    (A) Liquor, under the present conditions, is not good.
35. (Q) What will aid condition of eyes?
    (A) The treatments as we have suggested.
    Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body.

   "Will you kindly use the attached and give him his Reading as soon as possible as I believe you saved a day for him on your books when you talked to me from Washington. Wire him at ... day and time for the diagnosis.
   "You will have before you the body of [1727] at ..., Oklahoma. You will go thoroughly over the body, describe the physical conditions that you find which either are normal or abnormal which are causing him concern giving the cause of the condition, the treatment and the cure."

1. 6/28/43 Letter from [1727]: "Thanks for your notation giving me the new address of the Atomidine Company.
   "You advised me, in your last rdg., to use a 'very weak solution of the Atomidine as a massage for the hair - to two ounces of distilled water put ten drops of Atomidine. Use this on head and hair. Put it on when hair is dry, then use the soap, and preferably tar soap afterwards as a shampoo for thoroughly cleansing'. Please advise how often I am to use this on my hair, about how much solution to put on each time it is used, how long it is to remain on the hair before using the shampoo.
   "Thanking you for this added information, and with best regards."
2. 7/01/43 Letter from EC: "Replying to yours of the 28th - Atomidine water would be used just as a shampoo, put on and massaged well into the scalp say once each week - when used and thoroughly massaged into scalp use the Tar Soap shampoo almost immediately and the use once each week is sufficient.
   "Thanking you and hoping to have been the means of a service."
3. 9/09/47 Letter from [1727] to HLC: "Several yrs. ago I had a rdg. from your dear departed Dad and I have misplaced it, the reading was a physical, would you kindly send me a copy of it and a bill for whatever charges there may be.
   "Thanking you very kindly for your prompt attention in this matter." [Sent 9/19/47 - GD]
4. Mr. [1727] died Sunday, Nov. 25, 1984 at age 86.
