2/26/39 [
1779]'s letter to EC: "I was most interested in
reading your report of my case, and certainly believe it to
have struck at the root of things. The following week after
the reading, I went up to stay with a friend in Connecticut
where conditions were somewhat more appropriate for following
your directions. Things went along pretty well with the
exception of one or two things. I was unable to find the
Violet Ray lamp you indicated, so had to substitute the usual
one doctors prescribe. I seem to have benefited from it
considerably however, as far as the congestion in my chest is
concerned. Now that I am back at the above address, I shall
go on with the one you prescribed as I have just found out
about Reilly's through one or two others who have had your
readings. Also I am only beginning with the high irrigations
just now, as I have been taking only high enemas so far
having been told, on what I thought was good authority, that
they were the same thing. All very unfortunate since through
this delay I have become more jittery and nervous than ever
and also for about a week, which started about two weeks ago,
an alarming numbness set in in both arms and legs so that
it was impossible to stand even the weight of bed clothes
on them. It seems to have more or less disappeared now. I
certainly hope now that I am able to follow your directions
to the letter, it will not return. The Codiron I have been
taking as you said: two a day now for about six weeks but,
and this is one of the main reasons for writing you, the
hemoglobin is still abnormally low. I had a blood test last
week which showed red and white cells normal, but hemoglobin
only 55 off. I am wondering if two tablets is a drastic
enough dose as, according to bottle directions, the usual
dose is three to six a day. Would another reading be
possible right away to clear up these points, as I am really
feeling pretty close to the ragged edge. I should really
feel most grateful for this favor and of course will send you
whatever amount is required. I am told it is ten dollars for
a second reading. Is that correct? I should also like to
know at exactly what intervals the irrigations should come
and how many. One very encouraging aspect of the treatment
so far is that the sick headaches have almost disappeared.
That is something I can never be too grateful to you for..."

1779]
with other cases of anemia which GD got out for him: "Case
1779-1 would not be indexed under leukemia or pernicious
anemia but: ANEMIA, NORMOCYTIC."
