2/09/40 [

Friday
Dear Hugh Lynn Cayce:
I am distressed to learn of your mother's illness, and
earnestly hope that she will soon improve.
I also hope that your secretary is on the mend, and that you
and your Father escape the 'flu.
The South is certainly suffering from the extensive cold,
which has probably caused the 'flu epidemic.
I'm grateful for your thoughtfulness in sending me the
special delivery, and offering to set Tuesday, at 3:30-4:30
for the reading. I do not seem to be able to recall if there
is any difference in time between Virginia Beach and New
York, or not.
I expect to be in Room ... Chanin Building, 122 E. 42nd
Street, at 3:30-4:30 pm. Feb. 13th. I do not wish your
Father to undertake the reading, however, if he does not feel
able. It is very kind of him to offer to do it, but I would
not wish to impose on him, if he is upset, and you do not
have the facilities for taking down notes.
With very best wishes for health and progress for all, I am
Sincerely, [

Dear Mr. [
1786]:
Greetings!
Nothing open for my father's appointments until week of
September 7th.
The yearly memberships are still twenty dollars, including
one reading and literature for the year.
If you could possibly afford a trip here think it would do
you a great deal of good to hear your reading.
With kindest regards,
Sincerely, [signed] Hugh Lynn Cayce
