1/17/39 [
1811]'s letter to EC:
Baltimore
My dear Mr. Cayce:
Before coming here for a two day visit I was hoping to hear
from you in answer to my telegram asking for appointments
for myself and Dr. [
1832]. Both Mr. [
815] and Mrs. Gladys
Kimball suggested I get in touch with you to see what help
I could receive to aid my distress. My reading would be
for "Success and security" Information regarding my late
husband's affairs as we cannot locate cash money, securities
that are good (with one exception is some placed for a loan
in New York bank). He earned $115,000 in five years. He
died of brain tumors. His secretary knows all about his
business for 20 years and she must be made to talk. It is
difficult for me to regain health under these nervous
upsetting conditions.
Mrs. Kimball says you require the birth date. Born ...,
March 13th, 1888 about 10.45 A.M. in New Orleans. Divorce
from [...] 1927, married to [...], distant cousin, May 13
1933 in New York. He died 1938, Nov. 25th in San Francisco.
My lawyer is terribly handicapped because of a lack of
information and we have a VERY STRANGE will written in
Feb. 8th, 1938. I know another one was written about 1935.
Dr. [
1832] [noted in
1832-1 Background] was born in Ausbach,
Bavaria, Germany Feb. 17th, 1888 at r.15 P.M. He, too,
has great need of advice, "Success and Prosperity," as my
telegram stated.
Enclosed please find my cheque to cover both readings.
Where are negotiable securities?
Where is the will of 1935 or 1936?
Is the will of 1938 valid? A forgery?
What money did [...] [his secretary] inherit from my husband?
What are my possibilities for work?
Asking for help as soon as possible, I am,
Yours sincerely, [
1811]
1/20/39 EC's letter to [
1811]:
Dear Mrs. [
1811]-
Am in receipt of yours of 17th from Baltimore. Wrote you on
the 17th to N.Y. Would suggest you call Hugh Lynn, my son
at Lex. 2-7680 and have him help you and Dr. [
1832] with
your questions. The approach might be best through the Life
reading, yet, do not feel you would get the answers direct
enough about the questions worrying you. It might for Dr.
[
1832] - don't know. That is why think it best you see my
son and talk the questions and approach over with him. Do
hope can be of a help to you both. The first open period
is the 4th of Feb. - yours for the Morning period - 10.30 to
11.30 E.S.T. and is necessary that have your address for that
hour - and that you remain quiet and prayerful please. Dr.'s
for afternoon 3.30 to 4.30 E.S.T. and his address for that
hour. We are only able to give two readings each day, so
are limited to number we can even try and help.
Sincerely hoping the time suits you, and that we may be of a
service.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce

1811]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your letter with appointment was received yesterday. Thank
you very much. I sent Dr. [
1832] notice of his appointment.
As soon as your son is in New York I will get in touch with
him regarding questions.
You have my birthplace in the telegram I sent you so it will
not appear on my application. Artistic people have to do
things a little differently than others.
Looking forward to being helped by your reading, I am,
Very Sincerely,
