1/15/39 [
1813]'s letter to ARE:
Mrs. [
1813]
..., N.Y.
the Assn for Research and Enlightenment
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Friends:
Thru an interesting chain of events I was made aware of
Mr. Cayce and the wonderful work you all are doing. It so
happened I re-discovered an old school friend who is now
working zealously for the Cause. Her name is well known
to you. It is [
1602]. We met at the Hotel in New York in
December at the time of Mr. Cayce's talk. I was so impressed
that I made up my mind to act immediately. However an
affliction of such a nature as to blind me, intermittently
occurred. I consulted an oculist after a short period, and
he treated the eye. My general health has been so low that
I live practically on my nerve. So, having had good results
from chiropractic treatment, a new practitioner came to my
notice, replacing one who passed away two years ago. She is
a fine Christian woman born in the sign of Aquarius, and I
have had three treatments by her. She says my circulation
is very sluggish. Etc. Etc. Enough about my symptoms. Her
name is Elise Bucher [Elise Bucher, D.C.] from Germany.
To go back to [
1602] - Last week I had a great privilege.
We lunched and talked all afternoon, discussing readings etc.
She advised me to have a physical reading for myself and a
Life reading for our older son [
1814]. I forgot to mention
how interested my husband was in Mr. Cayce's talk. We both
feel as tho we had found the channel of information we seek.
I have had chronic poor health due to digestive trouble. So
I have been helped by taking hydrochloric acid (capsule form)
with meals. This conclusion was reached after a stomach
test revealed no hydrochloric acid whatever. I was then
told it would always be necessary. However some disturbance,
of unknown origin is causing my face to again break out.
Nothing but the face. Headaches are frequent. Therefore I
am asking you to please come to my assistance. I am hopeful
and feel, until I am well, I am so useless.
May I suggest some questions to ask Mr. Cayce.
1. What is the basic cause of my physical condition?
2. My nervous system being involved what specific do you
prescribe?
3. Is my system lacking in hydrochloric acid, causing skin
irritation?
4. If any diet would correct please give directions.
5. In what way are glands involved - how to correct?
6. Is Dr. Benj. Speer [Benjamin Speer, N.D.] of Scarsdale,
pupil of Dr. Van Rumpt [Richard Van Rumpt, N.D.], capable to
give corrective treatment? Can he follow your directions?
7. Is there any exercise capable of correcting my vision, so
that glasses worn for twenty years for astigmatism, may be
eliminated?
8. Are colonic irrigations recommended in my case?
9. Would a change of environment help to set me on the road
to recovery. (A chance for same may eventuate next month).
10. Should I continue Miss Bucher's [Elise Bucher, D.C.]
treatments?
If you could possibly let me know before the 12th of Feb.
what I should do, I would be so relieved!
Case II. Regards our son [
1814], now at Devereux School,
Devereux Hall, Berwyn, Pa.
These questions were all coached by [
1602] after due
deliberation.

REPORTS
2/15/39 Letter: "I appreciate our readings so much [1813-1,
1814-1, 1815-1], but my response is so late you will think I
lack in appreciation. But I am so languid everything is so
much effort - I don't know why I can't keep going, but like
the clock they forgot to wind, I jes run down. So you are
starting the pendulum going once more. I began following
directions immediately. My druggist is cooperating and is
so interested to know who gave such good advice. As soon as
I can arrange it I am going to have a nice time discussing
our charts at [
1602]'s. But I don't seem to need any
interpreter. They are quite clear to me, and coincide with
my astrological forecast. You make us doubly sure." [Rest
of letter and EC's answer to it used in son's Reports
[1815-1].]
5/17/39 HLC's letter to [
1813]:
Dear Mrs. [
1813]-
It was very nice to see you at Mrs. [
1602]'s again when we
were last in New York.
I hope that you are continuing to improve. You will remember
that I told you to please let us check up again before you
made any changes.
We are looking forward to seeing quite a few New Yorkers here
for the congress and I certainly hope that you will be among
that number.
Let me know if I can be of assistance in making reservations
for you. I believe you will find the Hotel Warner, where
we are holding the meetings and Congress dinner, very
comfortable and convenient.
Sincerely yours, Hugh Lynn Cayce
GD's note: Later in 1949 we had a routine test mailing to
Mrs. [
1813] returned to us marked MOVED, Left no address.
2/09/80 Son [
1815] visited A.R.E. and told us that his mother
had died a few years ago after a long illness following a
stroke. See
1815-1 Reports telling how his mother had
influenced his life for good.
