This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of June, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1820], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through his sister, Mrs. [...].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. [1820]'s sister, Gladys and Charlie Dillman.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1820].
3. Now as we find, some conditions have been very serious since last we had same here.
4. There is more inflammation in both the cardiac AND the pyloric portion of the stomach.
5. This is the cardiac portion apparently gives the more trouble in the present, from the lacerations there.
6. As we find, once or twice a day - not oftener - we would give a little Milk of Bismuth, - about a teaspoonful at the time, taken in water, and also about ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred in same - in a glass of water.
7. About once each day we would also take internally a quarter grain of Animated Ash.
8. Then about ten minutes after taking the Ash, we would use the Violet Ray (Hand Machine, Bulb Applicator) over the spinal system, and to that area from the 3rd and 4th cervical to the 1st and 2nd dorsal area, - for not more than a minute - about ten minutes after taking the Ash.
9. Continue this each day until there is no more nausea, or such regurgitation as to cause vomiting or the straining to the gastric organs.
10. These in their combination should tend to make for sufficient absorption and healing for there to be better activity of the circulatory forces through those portions of the stomach.
11. The body should keep off of the feet more. Keeping on the feet too much tends to make for WEIGHT on the system, especially with the conditions through the digestive system, and thus causing not only anxiety but a great deal of pain.
12. As to the diet, junket and broths, especially with arrowroot, will be the more easily absorbed and give better reaction for the body.
13. The rest of those suggestions that have been indicated should be kept.
14. Do this for this body.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Then the wheat and raw vegetable juices, etc., should be discontinue for the present?
    (A) As indicated.
Plenty of okra - as the body improves - will be helpful also, as the glucose from this is beneficial.
The white of an egg occasionally - not too often, but occasionally - will aid also, through adding MORE of those necessary properties.
17. (Q) Any special way to prepare the white of egg?
    (A) This should be TAKEN just for the effect of the properties in same itself, see? It may be beaten together, if it makes it more palatable for the body.
18. (Q) How about milk?
    (A) Milk will be the principal portion of the diet, other than those things just suggested as a part of the diet, see?
Camomile tea will also be beneficial, as will the powdered elm bark occasionally in water. This should be made fresh every day, and used in all the water that is taken, - once or twice a day or whenever water is taken. A pinch of the Powdered Elm Bark should be stirred in the water at least ten to fifteen minutes before the elm water is taken. The elm water should be taken once or twice daily, and the camomile tea taken at other times when water is needed - but make this fresh every day, see?
19. (Q) What causes blood to pass following such stomach pains?
    (A) The ulceration. The bleeding. Hence those properties for the absorption and the healing forces, as indicated.
20. (Q) Is there any better way to get relief when pains occur, than lying down with feet higher than head?
    (A) This is the better way.
21. (Q) Why does back not hurt much when stomach pains are severe, and then hurt worse when stomach pains are relieved?
    (A) It is from these same areas that the gastric flow receives impulse, from the cerebrospinal system. Hence, as we have indicated, the application of the violet ray is to be over the areas from which the gastric flow receives stimulation, and thus will aid the ganglia in their supply of energies to the system with revivifying forces, - thus aiding not only the gastric flows through the disturbed areas but also relieving those tensions in the spine also.
22. (Q) Could some part of stomach or intestines being misplaced cause this trouble?
    (A) As indicated, this is rather the ulceration and laceration there, - from conditions which have formerly existed.
23. (Q) Do these cause the pain in top part of stomach?
    (A) In the top part also. These have become rather sympathetic conditions.
Do these as we have indicated, and as we find we will bring the better forces and influences for this body.
24. (Q) What causes the pain around the heart?
    (A) Only a sympathetic condition from the flow of the blood to the liver through those areas, you see. The cardiac portion, - it is through the cardiac plexus, as indicated, that there is the flow not only of impulse but to the stomach and liver to make the greater portion of their activity. Hence the combination of those conditions as we have indicated, as we find would offer the greater relief for this body at the present.
    Do that.
25. We are through with this Reading.
