12/04/40 EC's letter to [
1833]:
Dear Mrs. [
1833]-
Was mighty nice to see you and Dr [
2046] again and was
especially nice to have you come out to Scarsdale, only
wish might have an entire evening to talk with the Dr.
Had your wire and then the letter of the 2nd - we as you
already have that indicated - only wish could have been of
some definite service - but apparently there is nothing that
may be done, wish knew what to suggest, but haven't an idea.
We arrived home alright Sunday night a bit tired but feeling
fair, have been quite busy trying to catch up with a three
weeks correspondence and rested enough to keep on trying
where and when can.
Thanking you again only sorry that am no good here and with
sincere regards to your and Dr [
2046].
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
12/06/40 Mrs. [
1833]'s letter:
New York
Dear Mr. Cayce
Received the copy of Mrs. [
1835]'s reading and are grateful
to you for doing it so soon. I should have told Mr. [...]
he could ask questions but didn't realize you were going to
do it at once. (I am enclosing my check for 10.00 which I
understand is correct for this Check reading?) I wonder if
you can interpret this reading for me? It seems to be the
same as the former one but does not suggest any treatment to
follow. She only sees the doctors & nurses - not even her
husband every day. So how can we get a different train of
thought started?
Does it mean there is nothing to be done - too late? I have
such faith that she can be saved therefore but I'm afraid
theres no time to be lost - not very many hours. It is such
a tragic & desperate case - undiagnosed by about 35 doctors!
Would appreciate a word from you to Mr. Hugh Lynn on the
subject. Want two copies of Mr. Sugrue's book as soon as it
comes off the press. Who has it? With kindest regards,
[
1833]
12/09/40 EC's letter to [
1833]:
Dear Mrs. [
1833]-
Thank you for yours of the 6th with enclosure. Just sorry
there couldn't be more positive encouragement. I think and
feel that Mr. [
1835] has been in the "valley of decision"
ever since she has been ill. That is why the information
presents it as - she must evince a desire to live - as you
say it is hard to help when no one allowed to be near except
the Dr and Nurse here is where possibly PRAYER may enter in
as an helpful influence - yet - it will be necessary to over
come the lack of desire on her part to make an exertion to
live but possibly if all is done in a systematic concerted
way may succeed. Just hope it can and will if that is best.
Do not believe any thing material will help. Must be desire
of the mental self to have the healing from within. Even tho
produced now - for her by friends.
Do hope you and the Dr have the finest Christmas ever - tell
Dr am feeling much better last few days.
With thanks and sincere good wishes
Edgar Cayce
