This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, N. Y., this 19th day of November, 1940, in accordance with request made by the uncle - Mr. [2413], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Now, as we find here, there has not been made - in a consistent manner - those administrations as we have indicted would prove most beneficial in producing the proper coordination between cerebrospinal and sympathetic reactions to the body.
3. Hence there is not a great deal of change in the reactions in the mental forces as related to physical activities.
4. In this body, as we have indicated, we find those demonstrations of the necessity of having that correlating, that cooperative activity between the systems of the bodily forces.
5. We have a very good physical body, but the coordinating of the mental WITH the physical impulses - now - is only existent at times, or periodically.
6. These disturbances as we find arises from specific conditions, as have been indicated as being a part of this physical manifestation of a body, a mind, a soul, in the material plane.
7. Then, as we find, those applications that will prove to be the most EFFECTUAL manner of bringing better conditions for this body will be those that will assist nature in breaking up those lesions that prevent this coordination in the present; also to stimulate the nerve plasm to flow more coordinantly through the nerve forces, - both cerebrospinal and sympathetic.
8. In the present, then, - we would INSIST that these applications at least be given an opportunity to show the effect that may be had upon the mental as well as physical reactions of this body.
9. The LESIONS exist in those areas of the lacteal ducts, or that area just below the jejunum, and upon which there is the flow of activity from pancreas, spleen and liver to assimilate with that digested - or at the main center. Not that there are not lacteal ducts through other portions of the system, but the lesions are where the greater network exists through which fats and the alkalines and acids are separated in the system.
10. Here we would apply, consistently (over this area, you see), the hot Castor Oil Packs. These should extend over this particular spot, which is four fingers from the umbilical or navel center toward the right side - only slightly, very slightly upward from that center. If the hand is laid upon this area it will be found to be cold, in comparison to other areas. Then apply these also, or let them extend also, over the liver area, extending to the caecum area, on the right side. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel saturated with the Oil; not just sprinkled on or poured on, but saturate the flannel with the Castor Oil and apply hot. Not so hot as to make it disturbing to the body, but warm; and then cover same with an oil cloth or the like, you see, to prevent soiling of the bedclothing, then applying an electric pad. Keep the electric pad at a heat that is not too objectionable, but warm enough to produce the absorption of the oil into the skin, you see. Let these remain on for an hour each evening, for eight days in succession. Then leave off eight days, then apply again, and so on in this manner.
11. Following the Packs the area which has been covered by them may be sponged off with a warm soda water solution, to cleanse same.
12. Then, each evening following the Packs, massage the whole area with the hands gently - not hard - to assist in breaking the lesions here, that hinder this coordination in the activity of impulse. Also massage the SPINE, afterwards - each evening - with Peanut Oil - all the body will absorb; massaging DOWNWARD.
13. After the Packs have been used for the first eight day period, then begin with the use of the low Wet Cell Appliance carrying the vibration of Gold into the system. Make the Wet Cell Appliance full strength, but it would only be used once each week; preferably on each Thursday evening (as it will be better retroactive then), for one hour. The small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal center; the larger nickel plate - through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially (in the proportion of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water) - would be attached to the lacteal duct center, at the point of location we have described. Use this Appliance for four weeks - that is, the four applications - before there is a recharging of the Appliance and a changing of the Gold Solution.
14. Continuing these applications, in the proper rotation and manner indicted, we will gradually see beneficial results for this body, [1843].
15. Do that.

17. (Q) What is retarding his progress to normalcy?
    (A) The lesions that prevent the coordination between cerebrospinal and sympathetic reactions in the body.
18. (Q) How would he react at home now?
    (A) There would be periods of quiet violent reaction, yet to follow these treatments suggested will necessitate - to be sure - that he be in charge of someone who will follow these suggestions very closely as indicated. But we will find that within two to three months DEFINITE improvement will be noted as to quietness, as to reactions from the body itself to suggestions, and to general improvement.
19. (Q) Could his mother apply these treatments?
    (A) His mother could apply these, provided that there are not other conditions that hinder her care.
20. (Q) Would you recommend an operation?
    (A) By no means! For, any operative measures naturally would tend to produce reflexes in brain. It is NOT THERE that the trouble is!
    If these things as suggested will be given a sincere, an honest application, we will see results!
