This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1861], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1861]; this we have had before.
3. There are conditions as we find that are improved. There are some disturbances in which this would be very much questioned.
4. These are conditions as we find them in the present: There is an improvement in the vision. There is an improvement in the coordination of the superficial and the central blood supply. There is not as good coordination in the nerve supply between sympathetic and the central nervous system as there should be. For the body allows itself to become worried about things that it shouldn't bother its pretty head about. There is the knowledge within self to do that you know to be right and leave the rest to natural conditions. Anxieties are the barriers - and these are not about the mental and spiritual but about material things. If the mental and spiritual are in accord with the divine law, the results in the physical will always be the most satisfactory. Why worry about that which ye cannot yourself help?
5. Then, these are the suggestions:
6. Occasionally, once a month or once in six weeks, have the relaxing osteopathically of the cerebrospinal system.
7. With the periods set aside for meditation - don't hurry yourself, don't be anxious but closing the self, the conscious mind to anxieties from without - enter within thine own inner temple. There let the voice, the feeling direct; yea, let the spirit of the purpose of self be free in its direction to self.
8. Attune yourself almost in the same manner as you tune the violin for harmony. For when the body-mind and the soul-mind is attuned to the infinite, there will be brought harmony to the mind and those centers from which impulse arises will aid in the directing of the individual entity to become more sensitive and the material things about the entity may be the better enjoyed. There will not be brought just that we might call satisfaction.
9. There is much more in anticipation and hope and desire than in being satisfied or gratified. Always know that there is more, if the whole trust is in the Lord.
10. Do occasionally, when tired from physical exercise, have either the ultra-violet or violet ray applied gently, or the electrically driven vibrator, or the Radio-Active Appliance. This will bring rest, it will bring the coordinating of the physical and the mental being.

12. (Q) Should I continue oil massage?
    (A) Be very well to continue occasionally. This is well to be taken after the one or the other of the vibrations coming from direct application of the electrically driven vibrator, the violet ray or the Radio-Active Appliance.
13. (Q) Are there any glasses that might be obtained or arranged whereby I may play and read violin or piano music simultaneously?
    (A) These may not be applied in the present, but as the entity and body-mind attunes itself more and more to the divine within, there may come the directions or the fulfilling of this hope within self.
14. (Q) Is there any way of sleeping on the back without snoring?
    (A) Not that has been invented yet!
15. (Q) Any method of improving meditation and concentration?
    (A) Just as indicated. This we would keep, but don't be anxious about it. Let it be a necessity to thy better being, rather than giving or having the meditation for better being. It's like whether you are baptized for or baptized to! It's the same application within the inner self. You have the meditation because you desire to be attuned with Creative Forces. You don't have the meditation because it's a duty or because you want to feel better, but to attune self to the infinite! and in attuning self, use your own vocal self; as with the oo-ah-ah--um [AUM]; but do your own vocaling.
16. (Q) What is the correct way of sounding aum?
    (A) That of attuning self by your own vocal cords - not tuning like you are giving vocal orientations.
17. (Q) Is it still indicated that ... College for Girls will reopen in the Fall of '44? If so, give some idea of conditions which will take place.
    (A) Whether it'll be the Fall of '44 or '45 this will open - and it will be in much better position than it was when it was closed.
18. (Q) What is my soul number?
    (A) You set that yourself. There's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine - which do you choose? Each has its own vibration. Each individual attunes self. Some days you're a five, some days you're a four, other days you're maybe a one or an eleven!
19. (Q) Can a method be suggested for increasing humidity in our apartment during the heating season?
    (A) We haven't the apartment! You can increase the humidity within self by the raising of the vibrations within self, so that the cold or the heat may be created within self.
20. (Q) We have been using our hot water cooled for drinking to avoid the chemicals put into it to purify it. Is this well?
    (A) If the water has come to a boil, it is well. If it hasn't, you've just changed the chemicals into that which may be active! Boil the water, then put it on ice or ice in it.
