4/04/39 [
1862]'s letter to EC:
"...I am submitting herewith a few questions for our guidance
in this reading, which concerns basically and almost
exclusively, my marriage, and all its ramifications, to and
with Mr. [...]. Indeed, in your letter to Mr. [
815] giving
me the appointment for this Thursday morning, 10:30 to 11:30
A.M., EST., you actually got this, for you wrote the have
'Mr.' (instead of me, - Mrs.) fill out the enclosed blank,
and to have 'him' do this, and that, etc. I need, and
immediately (have needed it for many, many years) guidance
for this soul, 'Mr.'...
"Please help. I KNOW you can and will, as you did with our
good friend, Miss [
1811], and so many others..."
"Questions - Advise me as to my marriage and association with
the entity known as [...].
"I want to know how I may DETACH myself (EMOTIONALLY, in
God's wisdom) from this sad association: How I may assist my
husband's development.
"Is divorce desirable, per se: in the abstract...in this
impasse we have so long been in? What can end it, this
seemingly 'sinister' force around and about me in my
marriage?
"Is remarriage desirable for the further development of the
entity now known as [...], and if so, when? I love [
815]."
[For purposes of discretion, this question was edited in
original copy - See 1862-1, Par. 39-A.]
REPORTS
4/20/39 Mr. [
815]'s letter to EC:
"...God works strangely. Mrs. [
1862] and I both felt for
weeks that Mr. [...] was the one in need of a reading, and
that we should not (relatively) waste your time until we got
him to accept a reading. But, when you were writing to fix
the date for Mrs. [
1862]'s reading, it always worked out that
you, in typing, mentioned the reading for Mr. [...]. We both
noted with amazement this strain of Mr. [...] running through
your letters on Mrs. [
1862].
"Well, the reading arrived. But she nor I have laid eyes on
it. Nor can we, save by my doing what I'm doing: airmail
you for a copy TO BE SENT TO ME HERE AT THIS HOTEL. You see,
Mrs. [
1862] moved from the ... Hotel last week, and her mail
was forwarded, inadvertently, to Mr. [...]'s office. He
opened all her mail, came to your reading and ?? It is a sad
subject. I won't know full details, but said a prayer again
for him..."
8/11/39 Mrs. [
1862]'s letter to EC:
"It is with deep appreciation for all that you did for me
that I at last am able to 'get through to you' with this
check, and I do want you to know how very grateful I am.
"I did so hope that something would happen to enable me to
get down to your conference in June, but I wasn't able to do
so and now must discuss things with you by letter.
"I do so wish that you could cooperate with me on the
dramatizing of 'The Lord's Prayer.' I do wish that we might
work together on it and of course you would share in the
material benefits as well from it. It can be done in such a
way that it would prove a benediction to the world. Do give
this some thought and let me know how you feel about it..."
2/12/42 Mr. [
815]'s letter to EC: "...[
1862]'s husband
passed on last fall. Please send her current literature at
my suggestions; her address is ..., N.J..."
1/09/43 Mr. [
815]'s letter to HLC: "...[
1862], whom [your]
dad did a Life reading for some years ago at my suggestion,
has been staying with Alice Bailey..." [re: publicity for
