TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1865].
3. Now as we find, the disturbances are rather subtle in their nature, for these are primarily GROWING - or the giving away of active forces to that which is producing INACTIVITY in the impulse of the nerve forces as related to vitality, - in regard to voluntary and involuntary nerve flexes.
4. Thus it becomes a static condition, producing inability of locomotion; or that in the present, when locomotion is attempted, tending more toward a palsied nature.
5. This as we find primarily arises from lack of glandular activity. It is partially, or impulsely, produced by a disturbance which arose from those activities in the pelvic reactory system.
6. Yet these in the present have not become such that there may not be help yet gained for this body, if there are the correct applications for the creating of the proper impulse in the nerve forces, and the muscular forces as controlled by same.
7. The blood supply indicates the unbalancing of the activities through glandular system, as well as impoverishment in those directions in which the hormone or plasm in same produces the proper effect to those portions of the nerve plexus and ganglia. There is the straining, as it were, from the lymph and emunctory activity of that plasm for the feeding of the ganglia between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system that causes the proper reactions.
8. The nerve system indicates this impoverishment, due to disturbing activities.
9. As we find, the making of application for helpful forces and influences will require changes as various conditions or stages are reached in bringing helpful forces to this body.
10. First, we would use the low Wet Cell Appliance that would carry vibratorially into the system, alternately, the Chloride of Gold and Spirits of Camphor, - one used one day, the other the next, you see. The attachments would be made as follows:
11. When using the Gold Solution (every other day), the small copper plate should be attached at the 4th lumbar axis, while the larger nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of distilled water), would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct center.
12. The next day when using the Camphor Solution, the small plate would be attached at the 9th dorsal center, and the larger plate, through which the Camphor Solution passes (Spirits of Camphor, commercial strength), would be attached at the LIVER plexus, see? That is, in the frontal portion of the body, so the electrical forces pass vibratorially through both lobes of the liver. This would be, then, just below the right breast, but below the edge or at the edge of the lower rib area.
13. Each of these attachments would be made for thirty minutes, every other day - and should be at a regular period. Do not leave the applicators in the Solutions when not in use.
14. The Appliance (or battery) should be recharged every thirty days, by the renewing of the solutions for recharging, you see. In this particular instance, the Gold and Camphor Solutions may also be kept for the full period of thirty days, if the applicators are taken out of same and the Solutions are kept covered when not in use. Hence the new solutions for FORMING the Appliance itself would be used at the end of thirty days, and also then new Gold and Camphor Solutions prepared. Have at least five ounces of the Solution in the bottle for attaching.
15. After each application of the Appliance, have a thorough rub. This may be done by a neuropath or masseuse, but have the body THOROUGHLY rubbed with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil, especially along the cerebrospinal system, from base of brain to end of spine, across the diaphragm area, and especially in the lumbar and sacral area. Massage all the body will absorb, thoroughly but gently, into the system.
16. Let a greater portion of the diet be of fruit juices and vegetable juices. Let at least one meal each day consist principally of these, either raw or cooked - fresh, raw vegetables.
17. No fried foods at any time. Refrain from those things that are made with corn or cornstarch, though potatoes - and potato peels, for this body - will be very well.
18. Of course, artichoke in ALL its forms would be well to be part of the diet, at least two or three times each week.
19. Have plenty of leafy vegetables, - though only fish or fowl, - no other meats, if meats are taken at all.
20. Not a great deal of pastries of any kind.
21. Whole wheat cereals, or wheat and barley cereals (as Maltex) would be taken.
22. Do these and, after the Appliance has been used for two whole periods of recharge, - that is, for sixty days, - we would give further instructions.
23. Ready for questions.
24. We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND

1. 3/16/39 [1865]'s letter to EC:
"Through Mr. [1646] I heard of you and read your literature and got very much interested in you since December. I had hoped very much to bring up your twenty dollars but one thing and another always prevents me. I take heart to come to you even with my poor five dollars and wonder if you would be inclined to help me, which I do need very badly.
"Six years ago I began to have much difficulty and pain with walking, a disease which has been diagnosed by doctors as 'Disseminated Sclerosis.' I never gave up hope to be all right again, I attend to my duties, truly often under great pain and only being helped by the family of Mr. [1646] who have been most kind and friendly to me during all these years.
"Do you think your reading could be helpful to me; to recover enough health to go on in life without being such a cripple? It is not necessary to tell you how grateful I would be to you. But I have to tell you though, that I am not able to go through expensive treatments. I have to earn my living.
"I look forward to your kind answer with much hope and prayer..."

REPORTS

1. 4/16/39 [1865]'s letter to EC:
"Thank you from all my heart for your 'reading' received yesterday.
"I simply had to marvel at your description and I am so sure I shall find help in your suggestions. Do you know how wonderful it is to give hope to a being, who has tried everything for six years without success and feeling going down the whole time, losing faith in what so many doctors have said?
"I shall follow very truthfully your advice.
"Will you kindly have sent to me C.O.D., the Wet Cell Appliance, and do I get the medicine through The Health Home Remedies Corporation?
"I wish to have the set as soon as possible. I am anxious to begin and shall let you know the result. I shall have all the patience necessary.
"And be sure that my thoughts are going your way with great gratitude..."
2. 4/18/39 EC's letter to [1865]:
"Thank you for yours of the 16th. All the praise should be to HIM, the giver of all good and perfect gifts; for of myself, I can do nothing.
"I phoned the H.H.R. Corporation and hope you get your appliance very soon.
"Know that I will be anxious to hear from you from time to time and hope you will soon be feeling a great deal better..."
3. 5/14/39 [1865]'s letter to EC: "Three weeks I followed your instructions very faithfully. After about ten treatments, I had for a few days a slight improvement, but it did not keep up. Nevertheless, I will have faith and patience and I hope to be able to give you a better report soon.
"One thing I got in the past weeks stronger than ever - a feeling of being closer to God and to understand better many things which seemed hard for me to accept. I have regained much of my happiness.
"I received today the monthly Bulletin of the Association and I am deeply interested in it. I feel very sorry not to be able to attend the convention in June. It must be a wonderful, helpful experience. I wish it will be blessed..."
4. 5/17/39 EC's letter to [1865]:
"Thank you for yours of the 14th. I am glad you felt better, even for a few days; but that your courage and desire to do and be better has come to you is fine. Of course the condition will fight back; just as all good resolves, when we make them, we seem to have the greater temptation. Keep up the good work. Keep close to the suggestion given in every way possible.
"Mr. [1646] suggested it might be better to have a check-up on you. I will try and arrange this as soon as possible if you wish it, so let me know. But we are very busy. That is, we have many appointments on hand, but will work it in somewhere.
"So if you wish it, write me, if it is not too much of an effort - just how you feel and what is troubling you most. And if you wish to ask special or specific questions, make a list of them. And don't think you will have too many - just as many as you wish, for know our whole desire is to try and help; and we know God's arm is not short.
"Thanking you and hoping to hear from you again soon..."
5. 5/22/39 [1865]'s letter to EC:
"Thank you very much for your kind note of May 17th. I am sure another reading would be very helpful, but I have again to request your kindness toward me, not being able to afford more than five dollars, which I enclose.
"Whenever it suits you to give me the reading, I will make it possible to be in my room...The afternoon is more convenient for me, but just as it suits you.
"A week ago I ordered the ingredients and also the jar which cracked from the Health Home Remedies, ..., Va., but have not heard from them yet.
"I have not been able, therefore to take my treatments and felt lately pretty badly.
"The questions I would like to have answered are:
"What causes the great pain in my left knee and leg from hip to knee? Why do I want to stretch myself the whole time? Looking forward to your kind answer..."
6. 5/24/39 Wire: Observe appointment in your room tomorrow morning, eleven to twelve EST. Otherwise advise.
