This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce this 18th day of February, 1922, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. [287].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now there are few abnormal conditions thru this body. Those that are abnormal to this body we find have to do with the supplying of proper rebuilding cellular forces or plasmatic distributions of the hemoglobin as distributed to rebuild portions of the body itself.
2. Now these are conditions as we find in this body here, Miss [1866] we are speaking of. The blood we find is deficient in some of the rebuilding forces produced by the strain caused on certain organs that function to produce the hemoglobin or property of hemoglobin needed to rebuild in certain portions here of the body. So thru certain organs the rebuilding forces becomes nullified in its action at times.
3. As we have the condition through the larynx and thru the throat here, you see, it is the condition that has existed at times back with the tonsils here. With the removal of these we left conditions that produced a knitting together of certain cellular network of nerves that produce irritation at times through the body, causing a reflex condition to the thrax [thorax] here and to the tubes that lead to the lungs themselves, producing a disposition towards the repression of circulation thru the upper portion of the lungs, tho no organic condition exists thru that part of the body. Only a reflex from the condition produced by predisposition within the body so that the lung forces in clarification of the blood is hindered from producing or reproducing within the blood or hemoglobin that property needed to give the proper distribution of the forces thru this portion of the body, not becoming organic condition but as it were a wearing condition on the nerve forces, hence the temperamental condition we find in the body at times, initiated on certain conditions arising in the body itself. Not a nervous force overtaxed, yet the body at times becomes nervous from this action or the irritation that is produced on the mental forces being produced from refractory forces to the nerve supply, the blood and muscular circulation through parts of the body.
4. The tired depressed feeling that comes to the throat and larynx, through the shoulders, thru the neck at times, a fulness as expressed, is the cycle of impairment of circulation to rebuild, or nature attempting to reconstruct the circulation in its proper distribution or forces to rebuild. Now the body is not sick all the time. Through the nerve forces of the body it is very good, the body is well balanced with its nerve forces considering the tension existing in the body. No repression of special nerve centers except as we find in the condition in the throat as here given that affect the circulation of that part of the body. The balance between the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic nerve forces are very good. The repression or reflex forces are expressed through the digestive forces at times, but are only reflexes from the condition as expressed here in the thorax as we have given. The functioning of the organs themselves are very good save the condition as we have shown here.
5. (Q) What treatment would you recommend, Mr. Cayce, for this throat trouble?
   (A) The action of the organs themselves, as we have given here. The heart forces are very good. The digestive forces affected at times, reflection from nervous forces. The body should never take food when excited or nervous for we have a reproduction of this condition throughout the digestive tract, see. It tends to make the body easily susceptible to congestion in any of the emunctory centers and circulation.
6. (Q) Mr. Cayce, is there anything that will cure that condition of the throat?
   (A) We will get this directed [directly]. We are giving the condition of the body and their connection. The action of the functioning of the lymphatics with emunctories and their supplying the ductless glands, especially those in the throat here, shows the action of nature, of the forces that go about to rebuild and replenish used cellular forces or that is gathered by the spiritual forces within that affect or come between the physical. The spiritual forces show their affect on this body here, hence the temperamental condition the body expresses upon certain subjects that have to do with the action of these forces. Too, this will be taken into consideration when we give the incentive to the body to remove the conditions within the body itself. This must be taken into consideration to bring the best results to the removal of these conditions we must bring all, as it were, of the beautiful of nature and spirit forces to bear on the mind of this body here. We would take into the system at this time this, while this is being given.
   The air, of course, should be higher altitude, there should be pines, and this we have to do with a rarefied air but not of a flat nature such as this we will find about Scalon [Scaley? Skyland? near Asheville?] in North Carolina. Take this into the system once every five days: To two oz. of Simple Syrup we add:

   Heroin...............1/40 grain,
Eucalyptus.............15 minim drops,
Oil of Turpentine.......5 drops.

   The dose will be 20 drops, followed by two gils of claret or wine. Do this and we will find then that the 5th cycle will bring the normal condition to the body. The food and diet that will be needed at this time will be those that tend to carry with the surroundings as you will find this body needed. Else the predisposition we will find will eventually effect the other portions here of the lungs.
   Do this as we have outlined here.
