This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of May, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1894], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [257] and her husband, Mr. [1095].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, physical and mental, and answering the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them; also suggestions for help and relief of this body.
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now as we find, there have been and are conditions which have and do upset and disturb the body.
4. Yet we find that conditions would be GREATLY changed and improved for this body if there would be more consideration given to the effects of the glandular system's activity as related to the proper assimilations, and especially as to the activity in the hepatic circulation, and the eliminations as related to necessary corrections for development through the pelvis - as well as the conditions wherein there may be the proper coordination between the cerebrospinal nervous system and the sympathetic.
5. The glandular forces that are involved that need better connections are through the thyroid and the adrenals, - or those above the kidneys here.
6. With these corrections, then (which as we find should be done osteopathically), we would have a GENERAL correction, with specific corrections in the lumbar, sacral and the last dorsal area, as coordinated with those areas form the 3rd and 4th dorsal to the base of the brain; making specific adjustments in the last of the cervical centers, and to the head, neck and throat.
7. These treatments we would have in series; twice each week for at least three weeks, then a rest period from same, and then another series - and so on, until the full corrections are made.
8. We wold also take a very small quantity of the thyroid as extract or pellet.
9. Also with same we would take Calcios as a stimulation to the better activity with the other corrections being made.
10. Do not take one of these without the other (that is, the Calcios and the thyroid Extract), for they will be dependent one upon the other for the beneficent effect to the physical forces of the body.
11. Keep in the open as much as is practical.
12. Walking exercises are the better, other than those necessary exercises attained or gained through the corrective measures osteopathically.
13. In foods, - keep away highly seasoned foods, and no fried foods at any time. Rather have the plain foods in the diet.
14. These as we find, if they are followed, will make for better conditions for the body as to its own physical conditions, and show the developing influences as related to the conditions existent in the present; bringing into the body - physically and mentally - a much better attitude.
15. INTERESTS SELF MORE AND MORE, mentally, in some constructive work that is of an aid for someone less fortunate than self.

    (A) As indicated, rather the plain, - except keep away from fried foods.
18. (Q) What has caused this condition?
    (A) Glandular forces, as indicated.
    Do these things as we have given, and we will find better forces for this body, [1894].

It is a syrupy paste, and sells for $2.50 a jar. According tothe Readings, it is the best way of assimilating free calcium.
    The Thyroid Extract or tablets will have to be secured from your physician.
    At your convenience we would appreciate your sending us a complete history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading, so we may have something with which to compare our information. This is valuable for our files.)

BACKGROUND

1. 2/18/39 [1894]'s letter to EC:
   Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Virginia
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
   I have heard many things about you from [257] and also from my husband [see 1095-1] who had a reading from you several years ago. I spoke to Mr. [257] recently and he suggested that I get a complete physical and mental reading from you, as quickly as possible, covering my entire general condition, with advice as to how I can protect my health and have a regular plan of exercise and diet to follow for the next several months.
   Have attached my application hereto, and would ask you to please write or wire me at the given address when I may expect this reading. I will appreciate it if you can do this during the coming week, or as early as you possibly can.
   Am also attaching a second application for one of my husband's employees who has been very loyal and faithful to him for a number of years. We are very anxious to save this man if we can. We believe that the only hope is in you, after hearing of the marvelous things that you have done for a good many others. Will you be good enough to set this date, and notify me, as the party cannot take care of himself and we are his closest fiends as well as employers.
   I have attached a list of questions to this case [see 1870-1] which I wish you would answer after you have given the general physical.
