5/15/39 Husband's letter:
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Association For Research and Enlightenment,
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
After our visit Saturday afternoon, we concluded not to
remain over in Virginia Beach Sunday, but returned to Norfolk
and Home Sunday to await Mrs. [
1900]'s reading before making
any definite plans.
We can not express our gratitude for the time you gave us and
only trust we did not trespass on the time of another as we
became so deeply interested in all you had to tell us, which
is very much along the lines we have both been studying in
the past years and hope when you are again in New York we
may see you when here.
Mrs. [
1900]'s maiden name was [...] and not [...] as I
wrote in her application Form. The question she would
like answered in her life reading are as follows:
Where is the Location - town or country - best for my
husband and me, and our business?
Please be specific as to Town and State.
When should this change be made?
What can we do to make the business more profitable and
increase our income?
Should we undertake the purchase of a small home when we make
this change?
Should any improvements be made in our Indexes and if so
specify what they are?
Can you tell me what to do to improve my physical condition
as my health has been very poor for a long time?
We will be most grateful to have these questions answered
along with Mrs. [
1900]'s LIFE READING.
With best wishes, I remain,
REPORTS
6/05/39 Mr. [
1900]'s letter to EC:
NEW YORK
Dear Mr. Cayce -
I received the life reading for which I thank you, but I must
say it has left me so puzzled, and undecided in fact I do not
know what to think - After my visit with you I had supreme
confidence in your ability also honesty - The reading don't
seem to fit my case at all - It refers to my ability to
write. Why - I can't compose a decent letter it is so hard
for me to write and I just hate it - and as for working with
groups and the masses - I have never had the least desire in
fact I do not especially like crowds. I live a very quiet
life - do not mix with people.
Again the reading claims I am interested in colors etc. I
am not aware of it. So you see I don't know what to think -
also your answers (most of them) to my questions were so
vague - The other material in the reading of course, I can
not check up on - of course I have no way of knowing about my
past. Do you suppose a second reading would benefit. Will
be glad to hear your views about this matter -
I remain
Yours sincerely Mrs. [
1900]
6/07/39 EC's ltr. to Mrs. [
1900]:
Dear Mrs. [
1900]
Have yours of the 5th. Am sorry that you get so little out
of our efforts to try and help. Wish might read this over
with you, for am sure you have a great deal of that as might
be of real help there. Believe you should read it very
carefully again, see the information as in relation to your
self and believe you will be able to get something from it.
As to your writing - do not think it refers to books or
magazine articles either, but tracts - sayings - proverbs
and the like, this am sure you can do.
And as for working with groups - might not this be outlines
for groups and not necessarily working in age group.
Some people are directors - or as Paul put it: "Some on
exortation - some on teaching - some healing - some preaching
- some ministering - some one and some another - but all of
the same spirit."
As to answers to questions - if these seem vague, would not
see how could be much more direct - as to place what to do or
how.
Questions might be based on what was given for another
reading but just the same thing would be given with the same
suggestion. But could make a list of questions asking to
explain to you what was said. Will be glad to try and help
if possible, for my whole purpose is to be of help if I may.
Thanking you and hoping to hear again
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
