Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for your letter of May 5 and for booklets received
under separate cover. Reading these has been most
interesting and enlightening. There are some points I do
not understand and I wonder if you will be good enough to
explain them to me.
1. For instance, there are several different matters which I
would like very much to talk over with you and get your
opinion and advice. As you note from the letterhead I am in
the business of helping people in obtaining employment. In
order to do the work properly a great deal of vocational
guidance and psychology, etc. must be combined with our
ordinary every day routine to make it most effective for the
individual.
For the past fourteen years I have been working on a plan
which would revolutionize this entire industry, but now I
need a little guidance before taking the final step.
2. I have a great problem confronting me about the health of
my one and only daughter who is seven years old.
3. About my wife.
4. About my self.
I don't understand, even after reading over these booklets,
how to accomplish that through the mail and what the cost
would be.
Could more be accomplished if I came down to see you by
appointment some Friday night or Saturday morning? I could
do this I understand by taking a night train and being at
your disposal at 8:00 o'clock A.M., and in that way lose
little time away from business. I don't think it is
necessary to explain that business has been so terrible for
the past five years that I could ill afford to lose any time
away from it except when it was absolutely essential.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for the reading and for your letter of June 1.
As I wrote you previously, this is my first venture into
something of this kind and I find it very difficult to
understand. I wonder if, after you read it thoroughly
yourself, you might be able to explain it to me in such a way
that perhaps even one so lacking in experience in matters of
this kind might be able to understand.
I should like very much some time to come down and meet you
personally. Have you any idea when that might be possible?
I shall appreciate hearing from you soon.
Yours very truly,
6/10/39 EC's letter to [

Dear Mr. [
1901]
Thanks for yours of the 8th - will be glad to try and help
you get the most out of the information given in your
reading. If there is a possibility of your visiting Va.
Beach any time soon - think it would be much better to go
over the reading with you in person, don't you? My son who
has made a special study of that particular type of
information is better fitted to do this for you than I am.
Please know I am not trying to side step the responsibility -
and will be glad to go over it with you, either by letter or
in person - but know you can and would get a great deal more
from the personal talk.
Thanking you, and would suggest that you read the information
over several times even before we meet and believe it will
mean much more to you - any weekend that you could come would
be satisfactory - if a weekend suits you better. Hoping then
to see you real soon.
Hoping to have been of a service
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

Dear Mr. Cayce:
I understand that you are contemplating a trip to New York
next month.
I wonder if it would be convenient for me to meet you at this
time and obtain from you a physical reading.
Would you be good enough to let me know at once telling me
what date and about what time the appointment could be made
for so that I might plan accordingly.
With kindest personal regards,
Very truly yours, [
