11/19/29 Letter to [
1916] from Linden Shroyer:
"As you know, we are going through all of the readings
compiling the data contained therein for the use of the
Association. We are not, however, using the names of the
individuals, and we have just come to your case. The purpose
of this letter is to ask you to send us, in your own words, a
resume of your experiences, both as to the correctness of the
diagnoses and the results obtained by following the treatment
suggested, merely something that we can use as a matter of
record.
"I am very sorry, as all of your friends are, (Mrs. Griffin,
Mrs. Atkinson, Judge, Gladys, Mrs. Cayce, etc.) that you are
unable to return to the hospital as soon as you would like
to. I know you are anxious to continue your treatment, for I
am sure you realize the benefits to be obtained. We will all
be glad to welcome you when you do return.
"Let us hear from you as to the matter first mentioned,
and then write a second letter at your convenience telling
something of yourself, prospective tea-room, election and
any other matters of interest.
"Have heard a couple of times from Mrs. Hopkins, who is now
at Pinehurst in her old position. Have lots of interesting
things to tell you, but will have to save them until some
future time when I will be able to write more in detail.
"With best wishes and kindest regards," Sincerely yours,
[GD's note: Mildred Davis, his assistant, had the same job
about which Miss [

12/04/29 Letter to EC: "I am getting along fine and still
carrying out my diet."
3(?)/30 Letter to Gladys Davis from [
1916]:
"Yes it has been a long time since I have written but it is
not because I haven't thought of you all. I am traveling
now, for Augenger (?) Studio, photographers out of Norfolk
and Roanoke. I enjoy my work so much.
"It was with no little interest that I read over each account
of the plans for the Atlantic University. I hope someday
my children may be members of the student body of that
great institute.
"How is everyone? Well, I pray.
"Gladys, I know how busy you must be, and I wonder if Mr.
Cayce is still giving life readings. If he is please book
an appointment for me. I have always wanted one. If he can
give me one I hope it will be before the 14th of June as I'm
sailing on that date and I would like to know before I go
if I was ever in any of the places I will visit, before
this life, it might prove quite interesting to me.
"You have my last check for my little nieces reading and that
can just go on this one, if it is possible to give it. May I
hear from you soon, in regard to this.
"Is Mr. L. B. well? Are Sonny Boy & Mrs. Hewitt still in
the hospital? I wish it was possible to come down to see you
before I sail but I guess I can't see my way clear to this
time.
"My regards to everyone."
Always, [
