This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of October, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [1928], new Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [428].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, [1928] and those relations with the universe and universal forces that are latent and manifested as personalities in the present entity.
2. Astrologically we find the influences on the entity are from Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus and Uranus. These influences are rather in the form of urges in some respects, yet conditions and environs in the present have accentuated some influences more than others; and those changes coming in the present experience in the very short period are those that have produced, and do produce in many inward and latent manners, not exactly discontent, yet not satisfied; not entirely in the position of "don't care" yet not wholly knowing what to care about, and for; or those relationships that exist between an influence of an astrological nature, as in Jupiter - which is now in those positions of being of the greater influence in the lives of those who have experienced sojourn in that environ, bringing those influences that seek for an answer into the mental being as related to influences of bigger, better, broader scope of understanding in the physical make-up. This influence is also now reflected from that which has been more active in the Martian influence, which has receded - and is now receding - with the rising of the greater influences. Individuals in those environs with Jupiter AND Venus have those influences making for the more spiritual, the more ability, the more enlightening and more pleasing influences.
3. The Martian influences have made for a personality that has become easily offended, at seemingly unimportant things or experiences in the life of self; easily irritated at times. These influences have been controlled somewhat through the temperamental conditions, yet there have been experiences - especially in twenty-five ('25) - when the Martian influence was so strong as to make for those experiences in the activities of the body, that many of them have been in the way regrets, and the ruing of those things that were said or done. Such experiences to every individual, however (as well as to this), should be used as stepping-stones for greater things in their experience; for as the mental application of a truth is gained, if it is building to greater development it cannot do so by being sorry for self, nor for those circumstances that have been brought about, for this brings fear; fear materially, fear in the form that will be a mental attitude or mental aptitude of the body. Not always have those fearful conditions, nor those fears FOR conditions, been existent in the experience of the entity, but with the ennobling influences now arising from the influences in Jupiter and Venus there should be that quieting influence, by the body's mental being taking hold of self, knowing there is nothing outside of self half so fearful as that that may be builded or brewed within self's own mental and material being. To lose self to such fears is to keep self busy in contemplation of the good that may be accomplished, in loving appreciation, loving thought, of how there may be meted to someone those things that have been and are enjoyed by self, in little material things, greater mental things, and the glorious spiritual attributes of every soul.
4. As we shall see from those appearances in the earth's plane, there was the experience when the influences in Saturn brought destructive forces in self, by the destruction to self rather than submitting to those conditions that would make for the destruction of the moral attitudes and acts of self. These brought the fear, the fear-consciousness, and with the giving away during that period of an astrological influence - that we will see in an influence of the combativeness, the ruling factor in the self - much may be understood as to how, where, and when these influences as elementals in the experience may be turned into those of constructive, rather than temperamental or destructive influences in the activities of the entity.
5. The Uranian influence, as is understood, makes for the exception, or the extremes, or the interest in those things not liked, desired, or influencing the regular or ordinary individual; hence these that have been called idiosyncrasies at times of the body in the present experience have made for a self-consciousness that tends to make those conditions where self-condemnation has arisen.
6. These are the influencing factors in the personality of the entity in the present.
7. As to the appearances, then, and their influence upon the activities of the entity in the present:

In the one before this we find during that period when the present surroundings of the entity were being besieged by foes to the ideas and ideals of the entity, also to the country and those influences. The entity resisted within self by might, by main, by mental activities. In the name then of Dunworth did the entity gain and lose; gained in the abilities to defend, defy even, for that held as right against wrong in every phase of the experience; but losing in the destructions of self to gain that which was to be for self's OWN influence, and self's own satisfaction. In the present this makes for those periods when the body, mentally and physically, becomes very much set, very aggressive; yet easy to forgive, willing to forgive, makes for those inabilities to at times make for friendships in the directions that are most desired by the body, until it reaches that position where it says to itself "I don't care," and then they come to the activities of the body, and do not satisfy; for the discontent has already been builded by the mental attitudes.
9. In the one before this we find in that environ when there were those peoples being persecuted for the tenets and beliefs in the new sect; and in the Roman land did the body suffer physically and mentally for those tenets held by self. When there came the period for the bodily injury, else denying the faith, the entity gave way at first, for self protection, for saving the physical body, bringing to self a mental and material anguish that enabled it (the entity and body) to later stand in defiance of all; in the name Nalthlai. In the arena, then, the body lost its life; gaining through the experience, after there had arisen within self those abilities to control the emotions of the body, mentally and physically, for the glorifying of that held as a high tenet in the inner being; hence in the present those tenets tending towards conditions that deal with the spiritual life, or that called the religious experiences of the entity in the present, have been varied; some that have been held dear at times have been denounced, yet when self has adjusted itself, and when self knows within self what is to be the activity of the body physically and mentally respecting rote, mental reaction, service in body, in mind, in self, glorious may be those abilities to find in such that which will answer for every desire of the body, the mind, the soul. The BEAUTIES of service to the entity are the most wonderful. To attain such for self has so often been felt in the present to be impossible, because of oppression from without and circumstances and variations; yet these will aid in bringing satisfaction, contentment; for - as held innate and manifested from the experience as Nalthlai in the Roman activity - there is no other name, there is no other that has that same saving power, grace or knowledge, save in Him. To whom, to what, then, may one go? The abilities in the present from this experience pertain especially to not just beauties of the household, but those that make for the preparation, especially in the decorations of things for the household; these are innate and may be developed, and - as may be seen - would bring a satisfaction in the activities, especially in the decorating of material things, or those about the house, or especially in china and the decorating of same.
10. In the experience before this we find in that land when there were the gatherings of the peoples from the banishment by the king of the priest and those that aided him, or the Egyptian land. The entity then was among those peoples who were in the land to which the priest was banished, that came with many back to the Egyptian land. With the regeneration of the priest, and the beginning of the rebuilding of those temples and those things that were to represent, or to retain for the peoples the tenets and the promises that were builded in the minds and in the bodies of individuals, as they cleared or declared themselves from those influences, the entity was among those that aided in the selection of, and in the training of, those of the fair sex that were to be the representatives of those that were chosen by the king for the bringing up of the especially elected or declared peoples for special service; hence the great influence that so often exists in the entity's experience of liking to see, or thinking of - in self's inner experiences, this, that or the other combination that would bring about such and such influences in the lives and the experiences of associates, in the bonds of matrimony or associations in their various activities through life. The entity from this influence, then, is rather a good judge of human nature as to material relationships between individuals; yet is often called not a very good business judge, or one too easily influenced by the expressions of individuals themselves. The entity gained and lost through the experience, in the name Ai-Leoia, and was of the Libyan peoples.
11. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:

As is seen, these influences that are to be ridded from the body are to be replaced with the desire mentally and materially to aid in bringing comfort, cheer, hope, understanding to individuals in all their various phases of experience, and lose self in the work of the home, in building that that will make for the experiences that must bring joy and harmony in the lives of many, as well as that that may find its expression in the decorating of those things within the home, particularly in the field of china.

14. (Q) Has husband anything to do with this condition of depression and general unhappiness?
    (A) Arising from those fears that have arisen in the present from the activities during this particular period, or in twenty-five ('25), as given. This is rather from within self, but losing self in aid for others - and in doing that which gives joy to the inner self will relieve much of these.
    Know that in that as the entity believed and lost fear, so will it ever remove fear.

   Enclosed please find check for $10.--. I would like you to give me a life reading and ask questions given below.
   There exists with me a mental state of depression, fear and bewilderment for which I cannot account, there may be a number of causes and will you please ask any other questions you may deem necessary in order to get definite information. I am especially anxious to have the fear complex explained so that it can be removed.
