7/05/39 EC's ltr. to [

Dear Mr. [
1681]
Have your wire of even date regards a reading for your self -
of course we are glad to make an appointment and try and help
- but am afraid Mr. [
1681] it is a bad approach - to try and
prove something to some one else. Am mighty sorry that Mrs.
[...] [[
1936]'s wife] is so skeptical as to need proof - and
then to you know tho it may be proof to you - it will never
be proof to her tho you get a reading describing all the
ailments you have pictured to her. She will still feel there
is a collision [collusion?] somewhere. But do hope Rev.
[
1936] will soon show signs for real improvement, and be
restored to health and strength again if it be HIS will.
The first open period we have Mr. [
1681] is the morning of
the 14th 10.30 to 11.30 E.S.T. - please note we go on
standard time - believe you have Daylight saving time.
Please let me know if that time will be satisfactory - and
just where you will be at the time.
Hoping to be of a real service
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
7/06/39 [
1681]'s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce
Following my wire of yesterday, here is my check for $20 for
dues in connection with a physical reading for myself, in the
hope of not only ridding my system of some pain, but, and
more desirable it is to me, to convince Mrs. [...] that my
persuasion is justified.
Poor Soul: she wrote me yesterday that "I may come under the
heading of 'Oh ye of little Faith', but I cannot see the way
clear to take the steps - such radical steps".
So I am more than anxious to do everything I can to help her
and Mr. [
1936]. Strangely enough, I cannot see where there
is any radical change in the treatment you recommended. But
the prayer and laying-on of hands seems to worry her - I
think that is the trouble.
Regards, [
1681]
