TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain and how. You will answer the questions which he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In going back over years from present - " - '36 - yes - changes - '34 - '20 - activities of water - " etc., on back to birth date.)
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1949].
4. There are many who would present an interpretation of the records here, or parallel them with varied interpretations of that which has been indicated at times.
5. We would choose these as the interpretation, which - if applied in the experience of the entity - may be the more helpful in the accomplishing and the fulfilling of the purposes for which each soul enters the material experience.
6. For, one comes not be chance but through the choice of the relative relationships between the seeker and the sought, - as in relationships to the purposes for which individual souls manifest in materiality, through the material or earthly experiences.
7. We find there are emblems, there are the numerological aspects, as well as those that come from the astrological sojourns.
8. As a compilation, or a composite of these (but without respect to what the entity has done or may do with same), we find these indicated as innate manifestations of this entity in the present:
9. One who is very particular as to his choice of associations in his relations, in his activities.
10. One oft called by others close and too susceptible to influences, and yet accepting so little in that way as to become an individual activity in its own way or manner.
11. As to the emblems that would be a part of the experience, - we find a shield with a key, and the dove with the olive branch, would be the emblems - as will be indicated by the material sojourns; and these have an influence toward which the entity seeks to give expression, not only in the experience of self but as a helpful force for others.
12. In the astrological aspects, - these as we find are not of the pattern either of the ancient Egyptian or Persian, but rather from the entity's sojourn IN that accredited environ to those influences in the experience of the individual entity.
13. Hence we find Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus in the active influences, - as related to the mental, the activative force, the emotions, as well as the influences that arise from each of these influences in the experience.
14. The entity is of high mental abilities, - being the seeker, - as indicated by the key that would open for a greater comprehension or understanding into not only the mysteries of the motivative forces in the lives of individuals but as to the great purpose of that influence or force which is the master key in the whole of man's experience through the material sojourns.
15. As indicated in the Venus forces, - the love of the beautiful, - the abilities to write, the abilities to interpret emotions in the experiences of others; hence making for an attractive and yet an ACTIVE force that may become to some repellent, because of the very fear of the activities in the entity on account of its closeness in many ways or manners.
16. In the Jupiterian influence we find there MUST be an abundance of material things in the experience of the entity, especially in the latter portion of forty-one and two ('41 and '42) in its present sojourn will there be moneys coming into the experience. For then will the Jupiterian aspects be in the benevolent influence with Mercury AND Venus, and the activities as well as the Uranian experience will in that period be in the aspect for the entity's activity in interesting forces for the mystic or occult actions.
17. From the changing influences or activities indicated in Saturn, we find that aspect which has been determined, - but, as is understood, none of these have a greater influence than that which is the birthright of each soul - CHOICE as to what one may do ABOUT the urges that arise, whether they be those innate or mental or emotional, - the emotional more often arising from material sojourns in the earth.
18. While the sojourns in the earth that influence in the immediate have not been a great many, we find that a great many HAVE influenced the entity which are now passed - so far as their application in the individual or present experience is concerned.
19. Hence as we find:
20. Before this the entity's activities were in the land of the present nativity, during those early periods when there were the turmoils which arose during the relationships of the land to those who would tax same, - or during those periods previous to the Revolution.
21. There we find the entity was an active influence, - not so much in stirring up strife as in correlating or paralleling.
22. Hence in the present the entity's greater activity is in COMPARING influences, not only as to individual emotions but as to those that will affect a County, a State, a Nation, - whether it be in the economic, the political, the religious or what not. These are natural inclinations that arise from the application of the entity in that particular period.
23. Thus the entity wielded an influence not always seen, in bringing about or assisting in forming opinions by the various groups during those periods of unrest.
24. The name then was Oscar Newman. There may yet be found reference to those impelling forces of the activities, as in the various meetings of the groups, - not only of Delaware but Connecticut and Rhode Island, as well as New York and Jersey, - and portions of the Pennsylvanian activity. For this paralleling, or this drawing of conclusions became as a part of the experience of those who were in the positions to wield an influence, an authority in those varied groups.
25. Hence we find abilities in the experience of the entity in the present that may be applied in the writings or the investigations of various groups or influences or forces, whether of the religious, the mental, the economic, the spiritual or the mystic nature. All of these, to be sure, are one in their import or effect, but appeal to the various developments of emotions in the individuals, as the entity is more and more understanding.
26. Before that we find the entity was in that now called the Palestine land, in those periods when it was under the direction of the Roman rule.
27. While the entity was among those of the natives of the Palestine land, it was neither a Jew NOR a Roman, but rather of the Grecian and Parthenian way of thinking. And the studies of the various sects or groups during the experience made for the background of the activities of the entity in association with many of those who came into authority, - as the groups of the Essenes, as well as the Pharisee influence upon various groups, as well as the more select set of the Sadducees holding to the various influences or forces.
28. Hence we find the entity was in the capacity of an active force in importing and exporting during those periods when there were the needs for the general activity with those in authority.
29. Hence ships, as well as the degrees of activity in religious and political thought were a part of the entity's experience then.
30. The entity was a student also, because of the associations with those who had been of those peoples of other lands. For the entity was brought in contact with those who were in power or authority in the various lands which the entity visited - about the Mediterranean; and greater and greater became the searching into those impelling forces in the lives of those with whom the entity came in contact. And the activities in the Alexandrian library were of special interest.
31. Then the name was Betrili. In the experience the entity gained and lost, and the entity gained. As the abilities were applied in his search for the greater hope in the lives of the masses, there was advancement. As they were applied in his search and in his labors for the secular and the advancing of self alone, - losing.
32. Yet we find in the present that many urges arise, latent and manifested, from those experiences. This has enabled the entity to be a fair judge at times of human nature, yet OFTEN rather influenced by not too well an account of the first causes in the experience of those so judged. Yet from those very experiences, as combined with those periods later, the entity may apply self in a way and manner as to be of a great aid to others in their search for knowledge and an application of beneficial developments for the mental and spiritual selves.
33. For, as intimated, there is a purpose in each appearance, each manifestation of an entity or soul, - and not for the glorification of self. For there needs not be even justification, but that of making more and more aware in the experience of self and others the relationship of the soul to the Maker - and the glorifying then of that kinship with same.
34. Before that we find the entity was in the land now called the Norse land. There we find the entity was among those who were mighty in power, as in physical strength, and those who made for the great expansions into the unseen or unknown lands in that experience.
35. The entity was among those who set about for finding the manner or means of communicating with those who were separated by the varied activities of the groups to which the entity entered for material action.
36. There we find the entity then forming the signals, the codes, the means and manners of lights and sound, and noise, and quiet. These were a part of the means for signaling or communicating.
37. Hence we find those things pertaining to the sea, and the manners or means of an activity over same for interpreting the needs as well as the helpful forces in the lives of others, were a portion of the experience of the entity - as Oslon.
38. The application of self from same has been and is seen in the present experience. This needs rather to be paralleled with, or comparisons drawn as to those that have been of a more ecstatic (?) or of a more secular nature.
39. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were turmoils and strifes owing to those rebellions which arose; in which the entity was the more active as among those who were the counselors to the King.
40. However, the entity was not among those siding with the King in the banishment of the Priest, - yet aiding in making preparations for activities with those from the Atlantean land, as well as those from the land of Said and On, for the interpretation of those things that would bring better convenience and more of those things making for the better service to the great number.
41. Also the entity aided in the establishing of those activities in which individuals were trained for special services, - as would be called in a present interpretation.
42. The name then was Aar-phen.
43. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:
44. First, as to all, - know what is thy ideal, as to whether this applies to the now, the then, or the hereafter; as to whether to the mental, the material or the spiritual phase of man's experience.
45. Know who is the author, - and let not the blind lead the blind. But know that He to whom ye commit thy ideal is able to keep that which is promised against any experience that may arise in any phase of thy consciousness - now or hereafter.
46. Ready for questions.
47. (Q) What was my name in my last incarnation and what was my birthdate?
    (A) Thirteenth of October in those periods as indicated - 1622 (?) [1722?].
48. (Q) In that experience known as Oscar Newman?
    (A) Oscar Newman.
49. (Q) I am one of the organizers of the Society for Etheric Research which in pursuance of humanitarian aims seeks direct communication by electrical and mechanical means between this world and the after death state. What would this society do now to achieve its aims and do it well?
    (A) Keep in those purposes and those ways that have been set as to the policies, as well as the ideals of the organization.
50. (Q) How should the Society go about raising the funds for its work?
    (A) By its membership and the publications of its findings.
51. (Q) How much publicity should the society enter into at this time?
    (A) Only that as it goes [gives?] as proof in the communications with those that have been and are helpful experiences in the affairs and lives of others.
52. (Q) Where should the Society have its headquarters?
    (A) In Connecticut or Boston or New York. Any of the three offer the correct vibrations and channels for such activities.
53. (Q) Where should I locate to carry on the work of this Society and also have security for my family?
    (A) Depends upon where is the chosen field for the headquarters of same. Then there would be close proximity to the headquarters.
54. (Q) Whom should the Society try to interest in its work at this time?
    (A) This had best be developed from that already accomplished, than from these sources - for this is more of a universal than individual.
55. (Q) I would be grateful for any other advice about this Society or its work.
    (A) This is worthy of thy best efforts. For, proofs to those that lose hope are necessary. But remember the ideal, and let it be not in material but in spiritual exemplification of that which is, that which ever has been, ever must be, the hope of the world - the WAY to the Father!
56. (Q) Are there other occupations I ought to engage in at this time?
    (A) Should write!
57. (Q) I am writing a book on Astrology or reincarnation. Can you give me any advice about it?
    (A) Study some of those things that are presented by the Persian research that was a part of the experience of self in the search in and about the Mediterranean, or a part of those influences during that experience.
The entity will be able to interpret these the better.
58. (Q) Can you give me the names of any of these books?
    (A) Search them out, rather. You may gain the insight from some of those who have been and are students of same.
59. (Q) Would I do well in marketing a book of this character?
    (A) Do well financially, as well as in every manner - if that way as indicated is held as the basis or principle.
60. (Q) Am I likely to be recalled to active service in the navy within 2 or 3 years?
    (A) The only likelihood will be in '41. This, too - if the people pray, and live as they pray - will pass.
61. We are through for the present.

REPORTS

1. 4/08/41 Mrs. [1602]'s letter to EC: "...Had a very interesting luncheon-visit with Comm. [1949] last week. He gave me a copy of his figurings of the spring and summer - German campaigns - according to his astrological figuring and dates which he wrote last Sept. It is just fascinating to see how accurately he has called - not only the dates but the places for each movement and will be more so to follow. He believes the secret of the Nazi success is in his use of the Eclipse of the sun charts - a most unusual method. [1949] is now asst. to the Naval ... and so busy he is out of circulation entirely but chock full of interesting information."
2. 5/17/65 Mr. [1561]'s letter: "Commander [1949] is an engineer, or oceanographer, a mathematician with few if any peers, an astrologer and somewhat of a prophet. The earth changes, as he 'saw' them, largely confirm those of the readings of Edgar Cayce."
