This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1968], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1968].
3. Now as we find, there are those conditions rather of which the body would be warned. For, in most respects and in the GENERAL health, conditions are very good. But there are the effects beginning of disturbances in the glandular circulation; especially as related to parts in the thyroid and in the adrenals.
4. These as we find, then, are inclined to leave disturbances that will grow more and more aggravating to the body.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them physically with this body, [1968].
6. In the blood supply we find those indications and tendencies for the superficial circulation to become clogged; and this is not merely the poor eliminations but rather the beginning of an incoordination - because of poor activity in the glands indicated - between the eliminating channels of the body.
7. Thus, - we would administer those activities which would bring a normal reaction through these portions, stimulating them to an activity from the body itself, rather than the body becoming dependent upon supplies that are robbing portions of the system to produce activity in other portions, or the system receiving elements or chemical reactions being supplied without arousing the activity of the system itself for a more normal condition.
8. These as we find may be supplied by the addition of those elements inclined to cleanse, first, the activity of the glandular force; stimulating the assimilating system to the normal reaction, and then aiding the superficial circulation to eliminate the accumulations of poisons that have caused and do cause the tendencies for disfigurements in portions of the body and face, and to supply the vitamins necessary to stimulate a better skin circulation.
9. This as we find is NOT acne, but rather a disturbance of the nature as indicated.
10. Then, to bring the better influences and forces, as we find:
11. We would first begin with taking small quantities of Atomidine; one minim (drop) in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken, for fifteen days - as the first course.
12. Then it should be left off for twenty days. Then take two minims each morning for fifteen days.
13. Leave off then for fifteen days. Then begin with the one minim again.
14. After the third series of taking same in this manner - with the other applications which we will indicate - we should find a near normal activity, and the general condition, the complexion, the skin, the activity of the assimilating forces as combined with better eliminations should cause near normal forces in the body.
15. Once each week, from the very beginning of the Atomidine, we would have a bath with Pine Oil in same, followed by a stimulating massage for the whole body; for the superficial circulation and to stimulate all the centers along the cerebrospinal system, and especially those areas from which the extremities receive their impulses for activity for better circulation. Following the massage, rub the body with a weakened solution of Grain Alcohol (NOT rub alcohol); the proportions would be only twenty drops of the grain alcohol to half a pint of water (preferably rain water, OR distilled water) - which would be sufficient for the whole rub each time, you see.
16. Also, about twice a month, throughout the whole period, we would have the Mud Packs; face and neck, and across the shoulders, and upper portion about the neck; especially extending over the area of the thyroids - as an astringent and as a stimulation for a better circulation throughout the system.
17. Occasionally - once or twice during a month, or oftener if the stimulation is such as to give better exercising of the nerves and muscles of the head, the neck, and ESPECIALLY across the areas of the throat and along the glands on either side of the throat, extending to that area back of the head and behind the ear - we would have a rub for the circulation, to aid the nerves and the activities to the eyes. This may be done by self, and use a compound for such massaging, prepared in this manner: To one-half gallon of water, put the juice of half a lemon, and a handful of oatmeal. Massage this into the face and those areas indicated. Of course, this is not to be rubbed IN the eyes, but those nerves and muscular forces that stimulate a better circulation TO same.
18. We would use Murine as an eyewash about once each week; preferably Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings, so that there is rest from the use of the eyes following same. This is only as a stimulation to the flow of the mucous membranes about the eyeball itself.
19. Especially during the period the Atomidine is being taken, we would use colonic irrigations, that there may be a cleansing of the colon. Hence we would use a colon tube.
20. Now as to the diet:
21. We would take at least half a pint of orange juice, with a little lemon squeezed in same, once a day. This will be most beneficial; preferable taken just before retiring should be the most satisfactory, rather than even for the early morning.
22. Then at the opposite periods, or for breakfast, we would have the whole wheat cereal as a part of the diet often. Use the crushed or cracked or cut wheat. Also at times have the whole cut oats, - not rolled oats. These would be cooked a long time.
23. Use fish, fowl or lamb if meats are taken.
24. Once or twice a week take vegetable juices that would be prepared by using a vegetable juicer, but only using the vegetables for same that would combine well. They may be combined or taken separately; the juices from such as lettuce, celery, beets, spinach, mustard, carrots, radishes, and a tiny bit of leek or onion, - not more than one very small onion, if it is desired that this be mixed with same. All these may be combined or used according to the taste of the body.
25. For a good cream or face massage, use the GENUINE Black and White.
26. Do these, and we will find we will make for better conditions, better health, better circulation, more vivacity, more pep and STRENGTH for the body.
27. Ready for questions.
28. (Q) Do I have pyelitis?
    (A) Rather a weakening of the glandular force as associated with the circulation, and not true pyelitis. Thus the massages as indicated for the nerves through the vagus center, to stimulate the circulation; and especially with the eyewash indicated.
29. (Q) Did [R...] stop coming to see me on account of the bumps on my face?
    (A) Used as an excuse; but as we find, with the better abilities within self, by the gaining of more confidence and the lack of self-consciousness, - through the better skin, the better complexion, the better circulation, - the body will be, physically, mentally, more desirable.
30. (Q) Since I want my physical condition perfect that I may better serve my fellow man by working out of my past experience with [R...], should I attempt to see him again, and how?
    (A) This should come as a NATURAL consequence, rather than something to be sought in a way and manner that is not in keeping with the dictates of the conscience.
    As we find, the stimulating of a better health, better activity, will bring about more conditions in which the associations with others will be much more practical, desirable, and sought for.
    Do that.

1. 7/04/40 [1968]'s letter to EC:
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
   I hope you enjoyed your trip to New York and that the Conference at Virginia Beach was a success. You see, I keep up with you through the Bulletins.
   I promised to keep you posted in regard to my readings, so I am pleased to tell you that my face is slowly improving and I do feel stronger and seem to have more endurance. I don't get tired as easily as I used to. I have tried to follow your suggestions carefully and I am sure that my face will soon be entirely all right. It does show a decided improvement and I am very grateful to you.
   Now, in regard to my Life Reading, [R...] married another girl in April. Do you think that is the end of that or will those sons still come to me if I marry someone else? I expect to get a reading later on my Palestine experience and will ask about that then, but Mrs. [264] told me your intuition was so wonderful that you might be able to tell me now. I would like to have your opinion so much. My main idea is for spiritual advancement, and I feel that your readings have helped me so much, even though things have not turned out as I thought they would.
   I would appreciate your advice when you have time. Also please tell me if I should continue the orange juice, cereal, massages, mud packs, etc. after I finish taking the Atomidine as directed in my Physical reading.

   Dear Miss [1968]:
   Thanks for yours of the 4th. Yes, had good trip to N.Y. While there sat for my picture, a lovely lady painted it of me. It is good too, but the interesting fact is that a year ago the lady [1789] who painted it was felt by her family and the Medics that she would never come back. She was quite out of her mind, but help came through the suggestions and was quite an experience to sit for the picture.
   Wish you might have been at the Congress - it was wonderful. Good crowd fine meeting. We missed Mrs. [264] tho this year - she hasn't come down as yet. Haven't heard from her - will write her today. Glad you are feeling better. Yes, keep up the diet and treatments for a bit as yet. Will want to get your system thoroughly cleansed and the system working in order.
   So [R...] married - well that isn't all of it as yet - but feel that you will soon if you haven't already met the real one in your life. Wasn't there some one of special interest not so long ago???
   Glad to hear from you and appreciate your letting me hear. Know am glad to try and help when ever I can, but some how just get the feeling the real romance of your life is at hand - if not already begun.

   Complexion
   Have used Black & White Cleansing Cream and Black & White Face Powder for several years. It has kept my face soft and smooth.
   A marked difference can be noticed within a few days. Have had occasion to observe this when there have been times when the cream or powder could not be had.
