1/12/35 EC's ltr. to [
1982]:
Mrs. [
1982]
Los Angeles, Calif.
My dear Mrs. [
1982]
I have yours of a few days ago. I was very glad, indeed, to
hear from you.
I am sorry to hear that things and conditions have not been
so well with you, and I wish that it were possible for me to
send you any amount at this time, but it is altogether out of
the question just now. I appreciate and have appreciated all
the kindness and courtesy that were shown me by Mr. [
2483]
throughout the years.
I have had little or nothing of this world's goods. What I
have had I have been willing to give as best I could. That
it may have proven very detrimental to individuals at times
when it was entrusted to their use or activity, is true, but
for this I guess I could scarcely be held entirely
responsible. Just what has happened since that time is nil.
It still remains as it was in 1922.
I had a letter some months ago from Mr. [
2483], and I had
expected to have seen him long before this time, but
circumstances made it impractical and impossible for us
to go through Indianapolis; consequently, we have had no
opportunity of talking things over with him. From the
reports that I saw some months ago, possibly more than a year
now, I believe it was, of some organization in California
that wrote me telling of your handling two or three groups
for them, as their leader. From this I had supposed that
things were very well with you.
I have a sister who now lives in Los Angeles. Her address is
1807 So. Bonnie Brae, Mrs. Sarah Hesson. I shall be glad for
you to see her if you have the chance or opportunity, or feel
inclined to do so.
I assure you I am glad to hear from you and to keep in touch
with you. Know I shall be very glad to do anything that I
can to be of a help or to help out in any way whenever I can.
With kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC:MD]
1/12/35 EC's ltr. to his sister, Sarah Hesson: "...Sarah, I
had a letter a few days ago from Mrs. [...] (or [
1982]). You
possibly have heard us speak of her. She and her husband I
met in New York - She was in Texas at the time the well was
going. She now lives in Los Angeles. I don't mean to make a
burden for you, but I know it would possibly be of interest
to her - so I gave her your address. So, should she call on
you - no matter how many hard things she says about me, why
you can listen to them all. It seems, though, she is down
and out for money, as she wrote asking me for some - although
they used to be pretty well fixed. I hope she doesn't come
to you with the whole tale; but I'm just telling you
beforehand..."
8/17/39 Husband [
2483]'s letter: "I came here two weeks ago
and found my wife quite lame in her right leg. I also find
that her hearing is somewhat impaired. So I am writing to
ask you for a reading on her condition which I hope you will
give without having her ask for it...
"I am enclosing a check for $10 for the reading and I hope
you will not refer to this in your answer."
