TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
3. There are many changes in the physical functioning of the body.
4. As we find in the present, from the general debilitation which has occurred gradually through an unbalanced assimilation, those activities of the gastric flow in the duodenum and portions of the stomach, the lack of sufficient quantities of the acids that aid in producing the normal lactic fluids is evidenced by the inability of the body to assimilate either alkalines or acids. Or when there is little or no food, only liquids or the like taken forms gas.
5. These have a contributory cause from this general debilitation and the chemical changes in the body-forces themselves through this particular area.
6. Also there are in the 3rd and 4th dorsal those incoordinations between the plexus of the ganglia there that tend to become a contributory cause.
7. For, as indicated by any form of activity, this condition of gas becomes more pronounced.
8. In making corrections for the body at the present:
9. First, we would obtain ACIGEST. Once each day take a teaspoonful in a full glass of raw milk. This is not to be taken in milk that has been sterilized or processed, but only in the raw milk.
10. Also we would begin and have at least six to eight adjustments osteopathically, through those areas specifically as indicated; coordinating the cervical and lower dorsals with the corrections made there. Have these applications made about twice each week, until six to eight have been taken.
11. Once or twice each week it would also be well to take a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth in a glass of water, in which would be stirred ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin.
12. This may require, during the first ten days, that a colonic irrigation be professionally given to remove those tendencies for accumulations through the alimentary canal by the taking of the properties internally. And these - the Bismuth and Pepsin - will aid in sweetening or producing normal balance through the colon area, as well as will the Acigest - with the osteopathic corrections - correct the conditions of the lacteals through the stomach and duodenum.
13. At least within the forty-eight hours after taking the Bismuth we would have the colonic irrigation, see?
14. In the foods, - keep away from too much fried foods or greasy foods, but have plenty of vegetables, fruits and the like. Not too great a quantity of these at a time, but taken the more often would be preferable.
15. Do that.
16. Ready for questions.
17. (Q) What should be done to correct constipation?
    (A) The colonic irrigations, so that we may regenerate - as it were - the activities throughout the alimentary canal.
Do these things, and as we find we will make for better conditions with this body.
18. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. See previous readings.
2. 9/02/41 Questions:
   1. What causes this condition, so that whatever I eat - so-called aklaline [alkaline?] forming food or acid food - together or separate - always turns into acid or gas in the stomach, which makes me cough, and gives pressure to the heart, either right after the meal or when the stomach is empty. 2. What should be done to correct constipation?

REPORTS

1. 9/15/41 [2300]'s [secretary] letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Asso. for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. Virginia Beach, Virginia
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for the Reading. Mr. [2000] has just started the treatment. He will let you know how he is coming along later.
The name and address of the osteopath who is treating him is
Dr. S. Margaret Brown 580 Commonwealth Avenue, Suite 6 Boston, Mass.
Wishing you all success in your very fine work, I am

2. 12/09/52 [2000]'s letter:
Assoc. for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. Virginia Beach, Virginia
   Dear Friends:
[...], my wife, last summer noticed a congestion at the top of her left breast. She has had no pain or disturbance, but recently she has noticed that this congestion is expanding, and the congestion is about the size of a walnut.
Our physician came today and said that it is a tumor and it has to be operated on immediately.
Personally, I am skeptical about operations. For this reason I am writing to you to ask what treatments Mr. Cayce prescribed for similar cases as to diet, outer applications, etc. Outside of this she is in good health at the age of 63.
I would greatly appreciate your immediate reply.
Please find herewith $5/00 for your kind assistance.
   Sincerely,
   [12/11/52 Sent 4 exts. GD]
