TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which she may submit, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2001].
3. As we find, there are conditions which have prevented and do prevent the best normal physical functionings. These have to do with the supplying of the energies that assist in the assimilation of that which should be the full fuel supply of the body.
4. Thus there is a depleting, through this inability of the supplying to the blood stream the sufficient resistances for the body; thus keeping many of the conditions disturbed in the body, as at present, in the functioning of portions of the system.
5. These, then, are the conditions and the causes of the disturbances as we find them:
6. In some times back there was contraction by the body of cold and congestion, which in its activity on the system produced congestion in the areas near the vagus centers; and lesions between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system supply became an effect.
7. Hence, as will be indicated, there is an area from the 5th and 6th dorsal to the 3rd cervicals that is quite tender.
8. These have caused deflections to the supply of energies especially to the lymph circulation, and thus through the throat and nasal passages there is a reflex condition of that indicated in the cerebrospinal system; causing some upper and back antrum trouble, producing a tendency for inflammation and a constant dripping, or mucous, in the throat and bronchi.
9. Some of this became a part of that which reduced the alkalinity of the glands that supply the salivary system; this producing then disturbance in the upper portions of the digestive system. A fullness occurs in the cardiac portion of the stomach proper, hindering the proper distribution of the lactic forces and fluids in the digestive system.
10. Hence we have a nervous indigestion; poisonings or the excess acidity tending to use those energies as we have indicated that should be the supply to the digestive or assimilating forces.
11. The liver becomes involved, as does the rest of the hepatic circulation. This involvement causes the low metabolism, or the pulse becoming abnormal at many times. This reduces the abilities of the energies to be replenished and rebuilt in the body.
12. As we find, these may be materially aided if there is the consistent and persistent application of those influences which may rid the system not only of the effects that have been produced but correct the causes of same also.
13. First, we would begin with osteopathic adjustments in those particular areas indicated; stimulating to the whole of the system for the reduction of acidity throughout the body.
14. Take any mild laxative of a Senna base; this to be taken rather regularly, periodically.
15. As a tonic, begin with the use of CODIRON; one pellet to be taken at each meal.
16. At least once a month a colonic to cleanse the system of the tendency for the mucous through the colon, from the conditions in the soft tissue of head, will be most beneficial.
17. In the diets, - keep an alkalinity in the greater part; or this as an outline, - not that it is all to be taken, but rather as a base:
18. Here are the DON'TS:
19. DO NOT take cream or milk in coffee or tea. Sugar may be taken.
20. DO NOT take cereals AND citrus fruits at the same meal.
21. DO NOT combine white bread at the same meal with potatoes or spaghetti or macaroni or ANY of the cheese dishes; no two of these at any one meal.
22. NO FRIED FOODS AT ANY TIME.
23. And here are the DO'S:
24. DO take citrus fruit juices at least three or four times each week as the principal portion of the morning meal. At times combine a little lemon with the orange juice, and at other times a little lime may be used. Vary these. At other times only the grapefruit may be taken, and at other times the pineapple juice. At other times take only the combination of vegetable juices.
25. At least two or three times each week have plenty of the whole wheat cereals, or steel cut oat cereals, but NOT rolled oats.
26. A great deal of liver would be taken twice or three times a week as the base of the meal, - broiled.
27. At other times fish, fowl or lamb would be preferable as the meats, - if meats at all are taken. The fowl should be well cooked, so that the bones may also be masticated at times.
28. Take CALCIOS at least three times each week.
29. Have plenty of fruits in the diet.
30. Do these, and we will find a better condition for this body.
31. Ready for questions.
32. (Q) Do I have any points of infection?
    (A) Read just what we have indicated as the sources of the disturbance. These are more than one that are involved, but the sources come from the lack of impulse of nerve energy.
33. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. 9/07/39 Letter: "I would like to know what is causing my low blood pressure. Also I am very nervous. Have had bronchitis nearly all summer, and a dropping down of mucus from the nose into the throat."

REPORTS

1. 9/21/39 Letter from [2001] to EC: "I have received your rdg. and believe it will be most beneficial and thank you so much.
"Case History: I was operated on - at about 28 yrs. old. Had both ovaries tubes and appendix removed. Have been more or less nervous ever since and constipated - also quite a lot of indigestion and gas in the bowels. In early life had Tonsilitis quite a few times and colds a great deal. Have never had any fevers or anything of that nature...
"P.S. Can you recommend a cathartic with a Senna base? Thanking you again."
2. 9/25/39 Letter from EC to [2001]: "Thank you for yours of the 21st - and the report feel sure from the experiences of others, that you will get help with the application of the suggestions. You can get senna pods and make a tea - or Castoria - is senna base as well as syrup of Figs - that is often good to combine with Castoria - personally the latter works best with me, but we are all different - but had an operation also that caused me to be inclined in the same direction.
"Hoping you will let us hear again after a few weeks or month of following the suggestion..."
3. 3/04/40 Reply to Questionnaire:
   (1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes.
   (2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? In some time back there was contraction by the body of cold and congestion. Which caused trouble in the vagus centers - tendencies in area from 5th to 6th dorsals to 3rd cervicals. Mucus condition, nervous indigestion, liver involved.
   (3) What was the physician's analysis of this condition? Low blood pressure, nervous condition. Colds, Acid condition.
   (4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? As near as possible.
   (5) For how long? Since having reading.
   (6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? Feel much better - generally not as many colds this winter as usual. (7) Comment. Took Osteopath treatments as suggested. Think they helped too.
   Date March 4, 1940 Signed Mrs. [2001]
"Dr. R. E. Davis [Robert E. Davis, D.O.] Osteopathic Physician, Mitchell Bldg. I believe I neglected to send you his name for which I am very sorry. Many thanks for all you have done for me."
