This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of October, 1947, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [1947], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2004].
3. As we find, there are rather those conditions respecting which warnings should be taken. While these in the present only cause aggravating conditions, there is a general unbalanced condition which makes for disturbances upon the nervous systems of the body, - and through same affecting the functioning of organs.
4. While in a manner these may be easily corrected, it will take a little time, and a great deal of patience and persistence, if they are to be corrected properly.
5. Then, these are the disturbances as we find them with this body, [2004] we are speaking of:
6. First, the blood supply indicates an impoverishment, or a form of condition in which there is the lack of the elements necessary to restore or to keep ahead in resistances. And this is especially aggravating in a developing body.
7. It is a form of anemia, caused by upsettings in the glandular forces, - especially the thyroid and the glands which aid in assimilation. These cause the disorders and the disturbances as we find in this direction.
8. These conditions just described, then, are an effect of disturbances in other directions; that is, in the nervous system, - as in the vegetative nerve force or center, and especially that portion of same as related to the sensory forces.
9. Here we find the effect of a subluxation in the areas of the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, as well as in the 3rd and 4th and 5th cervical.
10. Hence those nerve reflexes to the optic forces, - these being of such a nature as to cause especially the nerves of the eyes to be affected; though the vision itself as yet is only a confusion, or with the figures or objects appearing "fuzzy" to the body.
11. These as we find would be better corrected through the osteopathic adjustments, rather than being an operative case, - unless it became as one caught by this nerve strain.
12. This should as we find bring much better conditions than other measures, if the body in its general health is built up.
13. As to such osteopathic corrections, - we would have them made by an Eye and Ear Specialist; in an Osteopathic manner, however, - that is, an Osteopathic Eye and Ear Specialist.
14. These treatments would be made twice a week, at least; and three times a week occasionally.
15. As indicated, nearly all of the organs of the body are under strain in their functioning, - as indicated by the glandular force especially in the thyroids AND the assimilating forces.
16. DO NOT give THIS body ANY carbonated waters or drinks of any nature! Pure water is preferable as a drink.
17. Milk, or any form of malted milk, is well.
18. For the glandular forces, as combined with the activities as will be produced by the mechanical (osteopathic) adjustments, we would give the White's Cod Liver Oil Tablets; at least three each day.
19. Also about twice a week we would take the Halibut Oil with Viosterol, that there may be kept a better, more even balance.
20. Have plenty of vegetables and vegetable juices. The vegetables would be cooked preferably in their own juices (as in Patapar Paper).
21. Have plenty of liver and plenty of fish, and fowl or lamb occasionally. These are well in the diet for the body.
22. Do these, as we find, and we will bring the better forces for this body of [2004].
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) Should any exercises (or glasses) be necessary for the eye?
    (A) This will depend upon the responses the body makes to the osteopathic adjustments, and as to how regularly such adjustments are made. If the one making the adjustments finds that glasses would be necessary, then his directions would be followed!
25. (Q) What causes her many headaches?
    (A) The poor assimilation, or digestion of foods. This should soon be corrected if the adjustments are given, and the character of diet followed that includes the building properties indicated, - rather than giving nostrums of any nature.
    However, we find that occasionally the use of a good digestant would be well, - such as Alcaroid or Bi-So-Dol. Either of these would be efficient for the body, but do not give this regularly, - only if there is the inclination for the upset stomach, or the pains in same, or a sour belching, or bad breath, see?
26. (Q) Is she allergic to some foods?
    (A) As indicated, do not give ANY CARBONATED WATERS!
27. (Q) What about chocolate?
    (A) This should be very, very seldom given. But after these conditions are improved, or removed, this will be helpful in the form of a chocolate drink, rather than in candy.
28. (Q) Will her second teeth need to be straightened? If so, at what age?
    (A) Not if there would be given along with these treatments or corrections the body-building forces as found in CALCIOS; about as much as would be put on the point of a knife and spread on a cracker (as butter), three times a week for about three weeks, left off for two weeks, and then given for three to four weeks again - this eaten three times a week, see?
29. (Q) Is this what her diet lacks that causes tooth decay in her case?
    (A) This is what will aid, with the adjustments and body-building foods, in PREVENTING the disturbance in the gums, and make the teeth better.
30. (Q) If glasses are necessary, is Dr. Pearce of Greensboro reliable for fitting glasses?
    (A) As we have indicated, these should be considered only under the supervision of one specializing in the manner of treatment indicated.
31. (Q) Should Abbott's Haliver Malt be taken?
    (A) As we have indicated, take the White's Cod Liver Oil Tablets, and the Halibut OIL with Viosterol.
32. (Q) Any further advice regarding this body?
    (A) Do these things and, as we find, we will make the better conditions for this body, [2004].
