TEXT

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
EC: Yes.
Now as we find, the disturbing conditions, or conditions which prevent the better normal activity, are the effects of tendons and ligaments being inflamed; thus causing an effect of scar tissue, as in the sacral, lumbar and lower dorsal areas in the body, from external injuries.
While some of these have become static, or very taut, we find that with persistent, consistent application and treatment, there CAN be bettered conditions brought for this body.
Here we find that there should NEVER be operative forces, but rather the massage with oils, heat, and the low electrical forces as will give strength and make for corrections so as to cause better locomotory activity through the lower motory system especially.
Then, as we find: We would apply a saturated solution of Epsom Salts, in quite heavy pads, so that the heat and applications would remain for some time, across the lower lumbar and sacral, and the areas of the upper portion of the locomotory centers especially. These may be given daily if needed, but at least two or three times each week.
And following same, at least TWICE each week, make GENTLE massage of the muscular forces, osteopathically; making such adjustments GRADUALLY; not in a hurry - not even making adjustments specifically until the fourth or fifth treatment.
Then follow such treatments with a massage of oils, using an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil; that there may be the absorbing of these to aid in alleviating those tensions which are indicated through the area. These rubs may be given daily, to relieve and ease, but especially should be given after the osteopathic adjustments, which should be preceded by the Epsom Salts Packs, see?
It is true that there has been a great deal of confidence and help given through the holding to Creative Forces, as through the spiritual activities in the mental forces, - but these are physical conditions that can also be done to aid.
In the diets, - have more of vegetables; especially the raw vegetables; also whole wheat and steel cut oats as cereal; and a great deal of fruit; a great deal of milk and milk products, - rather than meats or too much of starches.
Do these consistently, and we will bring the better condition for [2013].
Ready for questions.
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

9/15/39 Mrs. [1661]'s letter: "About five years ago she had infantile paralysis but recovered without being crippled, then one day a car suddenly backed while she was crossing a street - knocked her down and injured her back so that she walks with great effort using a cane. The doctors say that nothing more can be done for her. Her mother, who is an ardent Christian Scientist, has helped her very much mentally, and we know would not hear of your diagnosing the case, but her father is willing that you should read her without her knowledge because he fears that any confirmations of the doctors' opinions might undo the good work in the spiritual line."
9/24/39 Cousin Miss [...]'s letter: "Mrs. [1661] has given me [2013]'s application, as she herself does not know of it... Her father is interested in the reading and is giving me a check for it...it seems best not to tell Mrs. [2013] of the reading...until either Mrs. [1661] or I feel she is ready for it."
