This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by her mother, Mrs. [1690].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
2. EC: Now, we find there are those specific conditions that needs be warned of the results of these in their effect in the system, rather than the condition itself at the present time. The congestions that have been produced by the increase of the number of bacteria, that produce cold and congestion, have centralized in various portions of the system, and that that will destroy or increase the warriors in the system, as to eliminate these and build up that resistance necessary to overcome the condition, that has been produced in tissue, in antrums, and in various portions of recesses in tissue and muscle (such as is seen in throat, bronchials, lungs, head and ear. These in the face also will need their portion), we would apply in a systematic manner, and in a consistent manner, these properties:
3. Whenever the body is at ease or rest (sleep, see?), there should be in the air, or atmosphere, as is breathed in, these properties, either through that of the croup cup, or these may be put in a container wherein water is kept boiling:
4. To a half gallon, then, of water, while it is hot, or nearly ready to boil, add:

   Eucalyptol........................20 minims,
Oil of Turp (Rectified)............3 minims,
Tincture of Tolu in solution......10 minims,
Creosote...........................3 minims.

5. This should be kept boiling, see, until the whole quantity is used up, or this may be repeated often, and where the cold becomes severe, or there is strangulation, this may be heated under a cover, so that the fumes of this will go directly into the throat, bronchials and lungs, see?
6. Grease each evening the ear (that is, behind), throat, across the nose, across the face (that is, between the eyes), with camphor ice, warm, as it is rubbed on, rubbing the body, of the feet also, with the same. When cleansed of morning (which should be with warm bath), do not allow draft or cold to come on the body for several hours at least afterward.
7. Keep the bowels and intestines acting over-active; that is, give those laxatives that will keep the system cleansed through these channels, that we do not find lodgement for this refuse matter in digestion or intestinal system. Such laxatives should be of the alkaline rather than of the acid nature.
8. Plenty of olive oil should be given the body, just sufficient that it does not become rancid in the system; that is, all it can take, which will vary from time to time, from a few drops to at least a teaspoonful, see? This may be given several times during a day.
9. The diet should be of that nature that will build up the system. As much of coddled eggs as body can take, of milk, and of beef JUICES; not the beef, see, but the JUICE as is made from same.
10. This, we find, carried out in a consistent manner, will relieve these conditions and give the whole system the correct incentive for rebuilding and building up properly. Do that. We are through with this reading.

   Hopkinsville, Ky.
   Dear Cousin Edgar:-
   Here I am again, asking for your help.
   My baby, [2036], had the flu Xmas and has it again now. She complains of her head and ears, in fact she has taken one cold on top of the other all winter and her ears have hurt her so much. I feel worried about her, am afraid that the continual colds will cause mastoid trouble also catarrhal trouble. She has had this fresh cold a week or more and just sneezes and takes fresh cold every day it seems. If you will give a reading on her as soon as you can and not interfere with any of your plans, I certainly will appreciate it. I hope some time to pay you for your kindness. Mama [1181] is getting along alright, but the rest of my children are having the flue and feel bad.

1. 3/25/26 Great uncle [304]'s letter: "I saw the reading [2036-1] for [1690]'s baby. [[1690]'s husband] was carried away with it and had the prescription filled today and said they were going to carry out the reading to the letter. Said it was exactly the child's condition.
2. 4/18/26 Mother [1690]'s letter:
   Hopkinsville, Ky.
   Dear Cousin Edgar:-
   I started a letter to you two weeks ago but didn't finish it so will try again.
   I received the reading for [2036] just as she was taking another severe cold and started the treatment at once. She got along so much better than she usually does with a cold and didn't complain of her head and ears.
   She has gained in weight and I feel sure will soon be fat and fine. The treatment and diet was simple and not hard to carry out.
   Your work is wonderful and I certainly appreciate your kindness to us.
   I speak of your wonderful work every opportunity I have. Will let you hear from me every now and then.
