Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [1523]. Working on a new house

Time and Place: 11:15 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern War Time. Norview, Norfolk, Va. on Argonne Ave., near.

TEXT

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
  2. EC: [After long pause, repeating address, apparently having difficulty making the location1]: Yes. As we find, there is the tendency for an overtaxation, owing to the strain and bruising of tissue in the lumbar and the hip area; combined with the weaknesses which have existed.
  3. The application of those things used would be well, if there were not the continued use of body. But under these conditions, when there is the activity that produces the throwing off - by the activity of the perspiratory system - there is caused that tendency for stiffness, and the producing of a dizziness that is not good.
  4. Of evenings we would massage the disturbed area with regular strength Glyco-Thymoline.
  5. Also we would apply afterwards a warm pack of Glyco-Thymoline; not hot, but warm, over the afflicted or disturbed area. Have three to four thicknesses of cloth moistened with the commercial strength Glyco-Thymoline and apply heat to same, for at least twenty minutes, - that is, after being rubbed with same.
  6. Then, after the pack has been removed, give the OIL rub, - not with the turpentine and camphor, but the OIL rub - Peanut Oil and Olive Oil, with Lanolin in same.
  7. Also take small quantities of Glyco-Thymoline internally - several times a day a few drops in the water.
  8. These, as we find, MAY necessitate that the body rest some time, if there would be the gaining of the body-equilibrium.
  9. Ready for questions.
  10. (Q) Should the osteopathic treatments be continued or discontinued?
    (A) These are necessary under the EXISTENT conditions. After the conditions are improved, these may be discontinued for a while.
  11. We are through for the present.

1 [6/05/42 Daughter's report: "Upon telling my father that Mr. Cayce had some difficulty in locating him, my father [2051] explained that he had purposely gone out in front of the home that he was building, away from others on the job, so that he might be alone for the appointment. He did not realize that it would make it more difficult for Mr. Cayce to locate him. He was sitting right in front of the house that he was building, in his car, at the time that the appointment was set."]
