3/01/40 Mr. [
2052]'s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce
Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Your reading for me of December 1, 1939, was of great value
and an inspiring document, and I again want to express my
appreciation. I note with particular interest that I was
associated, in an earlier appearance of my entity with the
Priest during the period of the banishment of the Priest from
Egypt. Mr. [
257], our mutual friend, informs me that you
were the Priest in this period.
You advised that I might be happier if I followed the
precepts laid down, if I went with the General Electric
Company who had then made me an offer rather than stay with
... I turned down the offer of General Electric, however, I
am sorry to say and about Jan. 13, 1940, received notice (six
months') to leave ..., as my services were no longer needed.
On Jan. 22, 1940, I became, however, a member of the ...
Purchasing Commission, at the same salary, and one of the
consulting contracts attorney. Remarkably enough I am now
doing exactly the type of work my entity did in previous
appearances, recorded by you.
I am now very much troubled by two problems, one of a
domestic and emotional nature, one as to my future in the
new employment. I would like to have a further reading on
these two questions. Would you advice a separate reading on
each problem at a different time?
Please advise me whether there is any further charge on these
new readings or whether they are covered by my membership fee
of $20.
Please advise me whether a reading can be had on or before
March 15, 1940 and whether the questions and answers, being
so personal in nature, will be kept entirely confidential by
you. As soon as I receive your reassurances on this, and
receive a date for my reading, I will send you my two
questions promptly.
Please address all mail to me at the above address and mark
it "Personal and Private". I enclose check for $5. as
payment on account, leaving a balance due you of $15.
Very Truly Yours, [
2052]
3/08/40 Questions sent by [
2052] to EC:
Question #1. In 1937 or thereabouts my wife (I was married
to her on August 25, 1931), [...] (born [...] on June 8, 1908
in Esslinger, Germany) began to go out clandestinely with
other men. In August 1938 I met and fell in love with a ...,
a girl of Italian parentage, I believe born in Youngstown,
Ohio, on May 25, 1905, and now in the employ of ...
Corporation of ..., New York City. Prior to this meeting I
lost interest in my wife who now professes a renewed love for
me. I do not know what step to take as I do not trust her
now.
Question - Should I try to rebuild my married life with my
present wife or separate from her and agree to a divorce by
her? Should I then marry Miss [...] or remain free? What
course or procedure will be least injurious to the two other
entities involved? What line of conduct will benefit my
entity in the most constructive way? If I do not become free
to marry her, should I continue to see [...]?
Question #2. What opportunity have I for attaining happiness
by remaining with my new connection in the ... Purchasing
Commission, ..., New York City? Would it be advisable for me
to seek at once a new and perhaps more permanent position
(and if so, how should I proceed), or to remain with the
Commission in the hope that I will be beneficially and
happily employed elsewhere later on by reason of my contacts
and experience in working with the Commission?
Question #3. Is there any danger in continuing my
association with [...] [Mr. [
551]], or will such association
be advantageous to me?
Questions #4. If I remain married to my present wife, how
can I have children, in view of her condition?
3/11/40 See
2052-2.
