4/06/42 Mr. [
2052]'s ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Virginia Beach,
Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce,
This entity sought guidance from you on two prior occasions.
The last time was when he was associated with the ...
Purchasing Commission, [...], as an attorney for that
organization. Now I am an attorney in association with
the law firm of [...] & [...], at the above address
(... Ave., New York, N.Y.).
On the prior date I sought advice on the decision to make
between two women who have influenced my life. I seem to
love them both in different ways and don't want to injure
either one. The choice for the entity is between [F] and
[S] [wife]. [F] is strong in every virtue, independent
and maternal, of a very strong protective nature, and strong
but pliable will. [S] [wife] is weak and dependent of a
stubborn nature and emotional and not of such good health
as [F], having prolapsus of the womb and some possible
trouble with the ovaries. Both women love me (I believe)
in different ways, one, [F], with a maternal protective love.
In 1941 I ran away from [S] [wife], to get a Mexican divorce
(invalid in New York) to marry [F]. Shortly thereafter, with
troubled conscience, I returned to [S] [wife] without telling
[F]. In a few more months, because of unhappiness, I
returned to [F]. Having studied the words of Christ who
pointed out the immorality of divorce, my conscience would
now seem to dictate a return to [S], my first wife.
My questions are [GD's note: Fictitious initials are used
by me]:
1. Will the entity find greater future happiness and be more
useful to mankind with [S] or with [F]?
2. What will be the effect of breaking away from [F] on the
one hand and or [S] on the other, insofar as their future
lives are concerned?
3. Can [S] be changed in character to be more like [F]?
4. Which woman [S] or [F], possesses the truer love for me?
4/07/42 Mr. [
2052]'s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
There are three further questions that I want to ask you in
addition to yesterday's letter.
1. Was it Christ's meaning in the Bible to state that a man
should not divorce his wife even if he did not love her and
respect her? Is there a Christian prohibition against a
marriage of a man divorced by his wife?
2. Is it possible that neither [F] nor [S] is the proper wife
for me?
3. What is the best course of action for me to take to settle
my marital affairs to the greatest good of all?
I hope this will reach you on time.
Very Truly Yours, [
2052]
