9/15/27 Mr. [

..., N.Y.
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Some time ago you asked me to let you know what I really
thought about the work which you are doing through the
Association of National Investigators.
To be perfectly frank with you, I do not know whether my
own mind is clear regarding same. It is very hard for any
one who has been brought up to consider all manifestations
of this kind as fakes, to entirely eradicate this thought
from their minds. From what I have observed and from what
I have learned through Mr. [
257] and the others, I am
convinced that something exists which my previous experience
and education cannot satisfactorily explain.
The fact that this Power can seemingly be used only for good,
is what inclines me to believe in it. I certainly would
welcome the opportunity of discussing this subject with you
and with Mr. [
900]. Mr. Cayce I was very much impressed
with what Mr. [
900] had to say the evening that we were at
his home. I have turned over in my mind, a great many times,
his remarks. There is no doubt, whatever, but that a great
deal of good to humanity can be accomplished by the proper
exercise of this gift.
I have been extremely busy both here at the store and home.
I have thought of you on numerous occasions and have been
putting off answering your letter. We have made quite a
number of changes in the office here and have moved part of
it from the 3rd to the 6th floor.
At home I am in the midst of a political campaign; running
in the Republican primaries for the office of Councilman.
As this is a contest and I am bucking the organization, you
can readily appreciate that I have my hands full.
With best personal regards from Mrs. [
298] and myself and
hoping to have the pleasure of seeing you shortly, I am,
Sincerely yours, [

New York
Dear Mr. Cayce;-
As Mr. [
257] told you over the phone I have been anxiously
awaiting your arrival in New York as I wanted to get some
advice regarding my business associations. I feel,
intuitively, that I am not doing the work for which I am
best fitted. This doubtless, you will recall was expressed
by the question in my previous reading, "Is the body in the
right line of business, and is it what it is best fitted to
do as it's life work?" The answer, "This, as we see, will
lead to that as the life's work etc."
Since that reading however things have been brought forcibly
to my consciousness that I should make a change. The way in
which our business is obtained and conducted is, to say the
least, distasteful to my better feelings. So while I had
made up my mind I should make the change, I have waited for
your advice before taking any action.
Now I understand certain forces are working (at the store)
which would make any decision on my part unnecessary. In
other words I understand they are looking around for
someone who can take my place. The question now is, what
shall I do? Shall I fight this influence and strive to
remain? or shall I bend all my energies to getting
something else? If the latter, what type of work shall I
seek?
Should I try to get something in ... or Westchester County?
or in New York City?
If not either of the above, then where? What type or line
of endeavor shall I enter?
This will perhaps give you an idea of my problem. I thank
you a thousand times for your kind help & assistance, for as
such I look upon it.
Am enclosing a check; ( the only one I have with me) but am
sending another to-morrow for you personally.
Love & best wishes
Sincerely yours [
2056]
P.S. Will be at ... Sts., all day Thursday.
10/19/27 (Wed.) Mr. [
2056]'s ltr. to EC:
New York City
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Am enclosing check of which I spoke last evening. Again
I must apologize for the smallness of same. I feel as
though I was receiving so much & returning so little. Maybe
the future will permit the dictates of the heart to hold
sway.
I shall anxiously await your advice. Mrs. [
298] said last
night she'd rather have your advice than that of all the rest
together. And I feel the same myself. I have a strange
sense of security that whatever my future may be, it is in
hands which need no guiding from me. My duty is to do my
work as I see it day by day, always remembering that all
our actions & deeds should be to the glory of God. Surely
that as a guide should be sufficient.
Love & best wishes
Sincerely yours, [
