This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of September, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [2067], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you [2067], born Jan. 6, 1887 in Boston, Mass., together with information given her previously through this channel related to appearance in the earth plane as Thesea in the Palestine period. You will give a biographical account of the life at that period with particular emphasis upon the urges in this life from that Palestine experience that bear on the life work. You will answer the questions which she has prepared regarding her work and associations in this present experience:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2067].
3. In giving the interpretations of the experience as Thesea, it is well that some of the background, which brought about the entity's activities through that experience, be at least indicated.
4. That portion of the Palestine land in which the entity was born, and over which the companion was ruler or dictator, had more recently (in comparison to the entity's experience) come under the direction or dictation of the Roman empire.
5. The entity was not entirely Jewish, not entirely Roman; but chosen because of the beauty, as well as the political influence that the family of the entity had with those in power as the priests.
6. For, the entity's brother-in-law was a priest; and he, Caiaphas, made overtures to Herod in his proclaiming the closer relationships to the Roman rule.
7. This, with the education or training of the entity through the early experience, fitted the entity in its social as well as political affiliations for the companionship with one in such a position. Yet these were never very close, as would be considered from the experiences of companions during that period.
8. The entity was well acquainted with many of that group of the Essenes during that time; for the entity was a seeker not only for the unusual but for the mystical powers proclaimed by many of that group through those periods of activity.
9. Then there came those periods of persecutions, for these were the attempts of the companion to court favor with the dictators or procurators who were in charge during those periods of the entity's experience or activity.
10. This, as indicated by the Scripture, brought some disturbing conditions with those of the Roman rule, because of the changes that were very probable, or that later came about, as to the emperors and their policies for handling those conditions and situations through the land.
11. Thus the entity became one acquainted with activities of a political and religious nature, and as to the GENERAL relationships of the populace to those changing situations.
12. When there were the orders for the destruction of the individuals, that their blood might be a portion of the sacrifice that was attempted, these brought abhorrence, and the turning away from the close associations with the activities of the companion at the period.
13. This brought great disturbances as to whys and wherefores of activities by or through the divine interference, or divine progress among men at the time; and these are a portion of the entity's own disturbing forces in the present - which have never, as to the entity, been completely answered.
14. For, there has not been the full concept as to the meaning of the blood as shed for the eternal sacrifice, or the law being of none effect in the law itself; that as individuals, in body, in mind, in spirit BECOME the law, it is then as void in THEIR experience - for they ARE the law! And the law is love, the law is God, the law IS circumstance - as experienced in the activities there.
15. Through those periods the entity gained and lost; gained when self was put in the place of preserving or saving the individuals from special servitude, and aiding in making it practical for the various groups to become more and more in accord with the tenets of some of the priests' activity; condemning the priests in their only making their office as a means for the gaining of material and social prestige.
16. Thus it was not an easy life through the sojourn; for the entity was wedded when only fourteen - as would be termed today, and lived until the experiences of that announcement of the Christian or Christ experience.
17. As to the application of that experience in the entity's present activity, - there needs to be - as we have indicated - the analyzing of the needs for that entrance of a God in materiality, and as to why at that period it was possible - through the aptitude and union of purpose in individual preparation; and how same IS applicable in the experience of individuals today.
18. Throughout the experience, as indicated, the entity GAINED the more; though turmoils in the mental (as the builder) are still a portion of the entity's OWN personality.

20. (Q) When and where will I begin work for this school year, and at what will I be earning my living?
    (A) Hast thou read, Why take thought? Have ye entirely, solely, put thy purposes in His keeping? Art thou not much more worthy than the ravens? or no? How readest thou?
    This as we find is a testing; not a trial, but a testing period for the entity.
    Work with the hands, with the mind, what ye find to do.
21. (Q) Considering my ideals, purposes and karmic pattern, as well as the conditions which I face at present, in what specific direction should I seek expression for my talents and abilities in order to render the greatest possible service?
    (A) This is rather a compound question, for it presumes or presupposes as to ideals, as to purposes, and as to self's concept of karma.
    What IS karma? and what IS the pattern?
    He alone is each soul pattern. He ALONE is each soul pattern! HE is thy KARMA, if ye put thy trust WHOLLY in Him! See?
    Not that every soul shall not give account for the deeds done in the body, and in the body meet them! but in each meeting, in EACH activity, let the pattern - (not in self, not in mind alone, but in Him) - be the guide.
    As to the outlet, as to the manner of expression, - to give as to this or that is merely giving opinions. For, all must be quickened - there must be the quickening of the spirit.
    As we find indicated in the expression of thought, by or through writing is ONE manner, or one channel. Another is by the speaking, the becoming as a lecturer, an interpreter for groups of various sects or forms of activity, - whether psychological groups, Theosophist groups, Sunday School groups of various denominations, or of whatever cult. For, the ideal is to set those aright! not by dogmatic activity but by reasoning - as He - with others.
    When questioned as to political, economic or social order, what were His answers? Did He condemn the man who was born blind? Did He condemn the woman taken in adultery? Did He condemn the man that was healed of palsy or of leprosy? Did He condemn any? Rather did He point out that in HIM each meets that karmic condition found in self, and that the pattern is in Him; doing good, being kind, being patient, being loving in EVERY experience of man's activity.
    Do thou likewise.
22. (Q) What relationship to me in past incarnations were the following persons: My father, and was his name ever Vend?
    (A) We do not find a relationship close in the family; rather as one from afar. Acquaintance oft, but as to being the father, or in the family, no.
    As to the name Vend, - we do not find such in the pattern or the record here; though we haven't the record of the father here.
23. (Q) The man who will be my future mate in this life, and when will I meet him?
    (A) If there is to be such, it is already a portion of the experience.
24. (Q) My baby granddaughter, [...] - who was she last time and what is her special work this time?
    (A) We haven't that entity here in this record; we may change to her record, but we would be through with this here! But we will find it we will seek it here - if so desired.
25. (Q) Please dismiss this question and continue with the answers to other questions regarding the record of [2067]. When will the following books be published? Any suggestions regarding each one as mentioned? First, - Scientific Parenthood?
    (A) This as we find needs some revising, and then may be presented to the agent - or through Doran - and receive consideration.
26. (Q) Child of the New Era?
    (A) We don't get this as being ready as yet. Not that there is not material here, but not yet is it ready to be considered. However, the ideas here should not be discarded; they may be transposed, and under another name be made most worth while.
27. (Q) Love and Marriage?
    (A) This as we find is ready for consideration, but this again needs an agent to present this to certain fields. Knopf would be well to consider; but this needs some stressing and some lines in the end.
28. (Q) Brown Man's Burden?
    (A) This should have serious consideration, but this will of necessity require the presentation under a different environment - though we find it is worth while.
29. (Q) Hour Before Dawn, that I want to write now?
    (A) This should be a portion of that experience of the entity as Thesea, for this is that period which would be well to consider. Present it as that; NOT as a historical presentation, but as a vision, a dream told by one who lived in or through that period. This would require much description of the period, but not so much of the history; rather the meetings of groups, the universal purpose, - and may be presented through Holt.
30. (Q) The book I want to write on the Egyptian Period, 12,000 B.C.?
    (A) This as we find will require a great deal of study and interpretation of that which is of a mystical record within self; and should be presented as such.
    As to its publication, or acceptance, - in '43 or '44 will be the time.
31. (Q) In my last Reading I was told Christ's name was written in my forehead. In what manner is it written, - in letters or what?
    (A) In the seal that is between the eyes.
32. (Q) Just what will be the future of the New Hampshire place that God has instructed me to build?
    (A) This should eventually become a retreat for many.
33. (Q) Just what are the dates of my life as Thesea, the Roman Queen of Palestine, and who were my children?
    (A) Beginning of 28 B.C. and extending to 6 A.D.
    As to the children, - there were only two, and neither of these became the ruler - but were associated with the ruler in a portion of the divided district.
34. (Q) Can I find my name Thesea written in any history?
    (A) Best to find it written in the tablets in the burial places about Jerusalem. There it will be found, as with The Great.
35. (Q) What books are best to read on the period?
    (A) Josephus, of course, is among the best; but those that have been a part of the experience of individuals are very good, - as Asch.
36. (Q) What should be the title, purpose, and general outline of this book on the Palestinian Period?
    (A) The Dawn of a New Day (or Era); the needs of the world for the new message, which is in keeping with the needs in the present - as then. There was the looking forward to the coming of the Messiah. Today there is the looking forward to the coming of the Prince of Peace, the new era. These are before you, even as then. These presentations would make same timely.
37. (Q) Please describe Thesea's character and appearance?
    (A) The character may be drawn from the portion of the entity's activities as indicated. As to appearance, - five feet six inches in height, BLACK of hair, and almost blue of eyes; prominent cheeks, but a great deal of color in the general or whole figure and make-up; in weight, a hundred and twenty-nine pounds.
38. (Q) Was Herod the Great cruel to me, how was I fated to marry him, and what was his general character?
    (A) It has been indicated as to how the entity was fated to marry him, - because of the political relationships with those in power. He was cruel in the aversions that were a part of the experience, because of the NON-activity or non-conformity to any general rule, and the rumors caused with the Romans - which were a portion of the entity's whole experience in education as well as in training and in the general activities.
    On the whole, the association was more of a mental than a physical nature; though the death was brought about by the decrees that were issued before the sarcoma germs brought death to Herod himself.
39. (Q) Who should be some of the main characters in the book?
    (A) Especially the Essenes; Zachariah, Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph, AND then the Sanhedrins, the high priests, and all of those as related to such.
40. (Q) Can you give details of Herod's and Thesea's deaths?
    (A) Herod, as indicated, died of sarcoma. Thesea died by the destruction wrought because of the aversion for her living BEYOND the period of Herod, and the order issued by him before his death.
41. (Q) Can you give some of the details of my saving my present son [M...] and other children from the cruel Herod?
    (A) This was because of the edicts for the destruction of those seeking to become as channels through which there was to be the perfect generation of individuals through which the Messiah was to come. The entity saved those children through the preparing of means and ways for their being transposed or brought to other portions of the provinces.
42. (Q) How much, if any, of the Christian period should be included in the book?
    (A) The first era of the Christian period; not of the Disciples, but the era of His experience in the earth.
43. (Q) Can you briefly guide me as to the main threads of the plot of the story?
    (A) As indicated, the need - man's need - man's wonder - as to the way, the law; self and selfishness as the basis of the evil influence or force. For, only selfishness - or the evil which is selfishness - is the sin in the world.
44. (Q) Was my mother Jewish and my father a Roman?
    (A) Mother was Jewish, the father Roman - of the soldiery; thus the entity was brought or kept in the Palestine experience, and with the close relationships to Caiaphas the elder and Alexandria.
45. (Q) Does every book before it is manifested on earth have its duplicate in the etheric realms, and then the ideas are impressed on some author on earth?
    (A) Rather in the mental realm, and may be etheric if drawn upon by actual experiences of an individual through some experience or sojourn in the earth. They are shadows.
46. (Q) We are told that the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ is taken directly from the akashic records. Is it historically true, and should I use the facts in my book?
    (A) It is the experience of an individual, or of Levi, who was in that experience and wrote from his own experience. To him it was an actual fact.
47. (Q) Is the revelation Oahspe, the Kosmon Bible, true in most particulars?
    (A) Individuals and individual instances, yes; and some very far apart.
48. (Q) In their present lives, will any or all of my three children realize the truth of things spiritual and psychic? How can I best help?
    (A) Just live the life that is in accord or in at-onement, and do not WORRY about same. They will experience it; some late in life, others soon.
49. (Q) Will I ever successfully start and carry on a colony, community, college or school, or help some other pioneer along these lines? When?
    (A) This depends upon the way in which the self applies self. As to whether such channels are the best, as indicated, depends upon the application. You have already set it in motion that such shall be; but will it be the best for you? This remains to be seen. It depends upon what is to be the theory or thesis of those actions there.
50. (Q) What is the purpose of my reincarnating at this time?
    (A) That He may be manifested in thee.
51. (Q) How can I learn to remember the work, study, travel I do during my sleep?
    (A) Write!
52. (Q) Will I be assisting any great Lightbearer who is to come during my present life?
    (A) That, too, depends upon the choices made. To be sure, all that is good - as experienced, as applied by every soul - aids all light bearers. For, the principle, the theory, the basic line of the new day is that GOD is One; and the union of purpose of individuals, of the hundred forty and four thousand, makes it possible for that to come into the experience through MATERIAL manifestation.
    Get that! It isn't deep; it is the law - it may be applicable in thine own experience!
